Kanye Addresses File Sharing Claims

File Done.

Before boarding a flight, Kanye West was confronted by the paparazzi for illegal downloading. Last week, the Internets called out Ye for allegedly pirating software. In somewhat related news, Mr. West says he’s never releasing another compact disc. If that’s the case, subscribe to TIDAL now.

If he doesn’t want to release physical copies he got no place complaining when people download his stuff illegally… the reason I bought MBDTF and Watch the Throne was because they had interesting packaging that made owning the albums appealing… in this day and age its too easy to get music for free so without that kind of incentive I don’t blame people for not wanting to shell out the cash.

    1. Kris Kompute says:

Real shit. You can’t monopolize people from buying your art from your platform in 2016. There are too many options.

I don’t buy. I stream (Spotify). But I was going to buy TLOP on iTunes out of support for Ye. He didn’t release on there or Spotify so there I pirated the album.

I hope that doesn’t mean he’ll never released another album to iTunes or Amazon. His music royalties will go to shit.

      1. Hans Landa says:

        That’s a Bingo!

      2. TruthSerum says:

I hope that illegal download gives you a virus on every single device you try to play it on. Fuck Spotify, Google Play, iTunes and anything that ain’t #Tidal. #SupportTheBlackMan

        1. Biff Tannen says:

shut up. support everybody or leave the country and go live with all black people so you won’t have to complain any longer. problem solved.

          1. marty mcfly says:

Why don’t YOU leave the country? Should white people that don’t “support everybody”? Go back to Europe? Because its alot of white people complaining about immigration so why don’t they leave? Since they made at the races that were here before them, why don’t they go back to Europe?

          2. Biff Tannen says:

I am an immigrant. we all are, technically. those specific white people that you’re speaking of aren’t good people. who are they to decide? my only issue with immigration is that who’s going to cover their healthcare costs? our taxes (yours and mine) are being drained by non-insured patients who check into the ER for whatever false complaint they can cook up because the US health dept or, EMTALA if you will, prohibits emergency facilities from turning away non-insured patients when in actuality there’s nothing to treat because half of the patients either don’t have an actual injury etc and just milk the system for pain meds aka narc seeking or they don’t have ssn’s and can’t gain citizenship, which is unfortunate because everybody deserves a shot at the American dream if their intentions are good. anyways it is what it is. i’m boring myself at this point lol you get my drift. no harm no foul

          3. marty mcfly says:

We are not all immigrants. In some schools their describing slaves as being immigrants to this country? Thats a false narrative. Now you said either “support everybody or leave this country”? Since you don’t “support everybody”? They why don’t YOU leave the country? I hear what your saying about immigrants and healthcare and thats fine but since you don’t support them “milking the system”? Then why don’t you leave? When government officials use your tax payer dollars to fund government parties in D.C, their also “milking the system”. The point I’m making is one does NOt have to support everybody or everything in this country just cause they live in it. I have the right to criticize what I don’t agree with in america and don’t have to leave the country because of my opinion.

          4. TruthSerum says:

Wow. Seems like I struck a nerve. And no, I’m not supporting everybody. If this racist, white supremacist system exhibited support for me and mines, I’d support all players in the market equally. But until that happens, I’m doing what every other ethnicity and race in this country and others seems to do so well…..#SupportingMyOwn. If more black people practice doing that, maybe we won’t have to continue pandering to politicians and and corporations for fucking handouts. And quit it with that white nationalist “or leave the country” bullshit. I’m not leaving. This country was literally built on the backs of Africans forced to provide FREE labor. If you don’t like what I have to say, take your bitter delusional ass somewhere else, cause I and every other AMERICAN of African descent ain’t going nowhere. #DontBeABitchAllYourLife

    2. THE ALMIGHTY MIKEY ESCO!!! says:

STFU YOU SLIMY LIL BAMA!!! FK YO FEELINGS!!!

    3. marty mcfly says:

I’m not mad at people who don’t buy music because I can’t argue with “Free” but one thing people don’t factor in is when you subtract money out of business? The business loses value. I know people think that Hip Hop culture is like some everlasting well of money falling from the sky but its not. It has went from a billion dollar industry to a hundred million dollar industry and it will continue to decline… Now when there’s less money and incentive business wise? Then you get weaker product so of course a bunch of watered down Hip Hop as now dominated the market.

Now this is not to say its all bad because when one door closes, another one opens but “Free” is not always a good thing. Even though people see Hip Hop as just a corporate entity, its alot of people in Hip Hop that are just everyday people so when the money goes out the window, it takes alot of opportunity, potential for expansion and alot of great art off the table as well money outta the pockets of the people who really fuel the sound of this artform (black people).

      1. Biff Tannen says:

*deep fucking sigh* Marty McKnow-It-All again smmfh! It’s a fucking genre of music not a race related million man march. you always have to make it out to be on some Malcom X shit? take a day off and go do some yoga or something. stop posting your bullshit governmental propaganda. post the link to the list of differences that you’re making in your community and NOT another 3 page essay. posts links! if not, shut up. if you hate the US government so much there’s the door!

        1. TruthSerum says:

You are no longer allowed in the temple of Hip-Hop.

          1. Inventor of the Truth Serum says:

shut up! hip hop belongs to everybody and not just black folk and there’s absolutely nothing that you can do about it. n o t h i n g . bet that stings a bit. just picture me pointing and laughing at you right now because that’s exactly what I’m doing. I actually support the artists that I listen to. I’m a shareholder of hip hop just everybody else who actually purchases albums, concert tickets and merch. so while you’re on here trying to tell me what I can and can’t do I’m on the highway with your girl listening to, you guessed it, hip hop. lmfao #dummy

          2. marty mcfly says:

The ASSUMPTION is made that when I make a comment about black people being the fuel behind the music in Hip Hop? That I’m saying its ONLY for black people? Thats not what I’m saying. Now in this context, the comment was made that white people were also poisoned in Flint… I don’t care what race of people were poisoned. If the money generated from “Hip Hop culture” can be used to fix a problem and do it potentially faster then even the government itself? Then thats what I was saying Hip Hop has the power to do.

          3. Biff Tannen says:

then my apologies. would rather have a conversation about music and the human race as a whole then read another comment bashing a single race for the downfall of everything. it’s what bothers me the most. we can solve issues together as a whole and not as segregated units. that’s what makes this country so dope. all walks of life coming together for one purpose. but we still have those radicals that will always put a damper on race relations simply because they’re racists jerks. I understand that we will always have those racist shitheads which sucks but what can you do? we can’t cure pure ignorance. I love hip hop just as much (actually scratch that) more than the average person and really support and respect the artistry. artists such as ATCQ, Lupe, Kendrick, and Nas etc are the soundtrack to my life. what’s happening in Flint is horrible and how Hip Hip has come together in support is dope in every way.

          4. marty mcfly says:

Well your initial comment demonstrates how you really feel about the situation… I make a comment about black people and you take it as propaganda in which you suggest I should leave the country… So when you talk about radicals and racist shit heads? I don’t see how you too much different from them.

          5. TruthSerum says:

First of all, Hip Hop is Black Culture. Period. Now, we invite everyone in the building to enjoy it with us, but the minute you step out of line, we are quick to remind you where this shit came from. Second, I doubt you own a car. I’d be shocked if your lil’ ass owned a buss pass. And my #Wife is disgusted by the notion of riding the bus, so I doubt you have any shot of being on any highway in this country as the same time as her unless you’re in a booth collecting tolls. #WhosTheDummyNow #YousAMaggot

        2. marty mcfly says:

Yes its a music genre… The fact that people don’t see how Hip Hop is much more then just a genre of music and its a known fact that the power of music goes well beyond just the realm of entertainment and can be used as a agent of positive change in many different arenas, is an issue. Now you may need to go do some yoga because clearly your all emo over the comment but there wasn’t any “propaganda” in my comment. Now YOU go make changes in your community or stfu and if YOU don’t like the government then YOU leave. Don’t speak on me about posting links about things that YOU likely don’t do yourself.

        3. marty mcfly says:

You take a comment and dumb it down to the lowest level you can because YOU feel some kinda way… My comment was about Hip Hop and its potential to fix and your bring aid to a problem when it steps outside of the realm of just entertainment. The comment was very easy to understand and there was really no need for you to bitch out over it.

This is The Greatest Comment of #AllTime!!!

        1. Biff Tannen says:

half of those “people” in Flint that were “poisoned” are white people just fyi

          1. marty mcfly says:

Ok whether their white or black, I’m not for poisoning people.

          2. TruthSerum says:

Sorry bro….you just confuse the shit out of me.

    4. TruthSerum says:

Up to this point, he’s released nothing but physical CD’s. People have downloaded 10’s of millions of his albums for free despite the availability of physical product since his first LP. You are one person out of hundreds of millions of people around the globe that appreciates the artwork. With all due respect, do you really think niggas give a Fuck About album credits and artwork anymore??? If they did, Spotify, Google Play, and iTunes wouldn’t stand a chance, but the reality is each of those businesses are experiencing ridiculous growth year over year for the past 5 years. I’ve had all three of those services and only recently signed up for Tidal just for TLOP. In my opinion, Tidal is a better product. For those who can afford the $20/month version for the enhanced high-quality audio, it’s worth it if sound quality matters to you. When I finally stopped purchasing CD’s, my only pet peeve about streaming services was the inferior audio quality….Tidal has fixed that. #TruthSerum

      1. Inventor of the Truth Serum says:

$20 a month for the same artists and albums? no thanks. i’ll purchase it once and have it forever. streaming is not for everybody. #dummy

  2. el jim chapo guzman says:

illegal downloads fucked the music industry up badly….

    1. Kris Kompute says:

No it didn’t. It forced them to stop making shit albums. After napster, record labels stopped releasing projects that had 3 singles and 9 album fillers.

Plus it gave birth to iTunes and streaming.

      You’re a fuckin idiot.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

I’m not going to argue with you cause you’re dumb.

    2. jay says:

well maybe they should stop selling digitally, isn’t that what Adele did with her last album? and look how many people went to the store and bought it.

      1. Kris Kompute says:

Adele didn’t took her album off streaming platforms. Same with Taylor.

  3. Russ says:

He’s not all that smart because he can be sued for TLOP for not releasing it how it should. He’s about to pay a lot of people who paid for the album. Plus, him and Jay aren’t slick with the Tidal ploy. Most of know what they’re doing. It’s not good business.

    1. TruthSerum says:

      It’s not good business. It’s #GreatBusiness

  4. TruthSerum says:

Kanye West is the GOAT. The Death of CD’s was destined after the first mp3 was downloaded on Napster. The same thing is happening to DVD’s. I have a brand new Macbook Pro that cost me almost $3,000. Guess what it didn’t come with………..??? A CD/DVD player/burner. Streaming is king. Not to mention, I remember only having enough money to buy maybe one or two albums per month back in the day (at an average of $10 to $15 per cd). Any of the top streaming services charge roughly $10 per month for unlimited access to any song or album in the providers entire library. If you smoke cigarettes, black & mild’s, or weed even just once a week, is a streaming service truly something you can’t afford? It’s just a question. I am an artist myself. I’m independent and can not afford the investment of both physical and digital product. So I have no problem with a major artist being smart enough to respond to the writing that has been on the wall for almost 10 years now. Either stream his shit or get off his dick. #TruthSerum

    1. Kris Kompute says:

Brand new Macbook’s don’t come with CD drives. You’re lying.

When unnecessary stunting goes wrong. Smh, dumbass.

      1. GetReal says:

you obviously don’t have a new macbook because the retina display 15″ models don’t come with cd drives. when thinking you’re right goes wrong
