RIP Phife.

  3. Ferris Bueller says:

So good. Still got it after all of these years. Encourage everybody who loves Hip Hop to support this album.

  4. Everyone involved really gave their best. The best Busta has sounded in years.

    Dave Chappelle’s monologue was poignant.

Tax Season talked about real things. Charlamagne needs to interview Keith Ellison, the man who predicted Trump’s win.

Rap album of the year! Salute to the whole ATCQ!

      1. Scromes1212 says:

        You heard the album?

        1. 476231 says:

          Yes, thanks for asking.

          1. SMH says:

They couldn’t get Lil Yachty or Young Thug features. Our apologies, big guy.

          2. 476231 says:

Appreciate your effort though. You tried.

    1. BK James says:

It was a fine album but definitely not album of the year. It was just too inconsistent, too all over the place, too hit or miss, and too sloppily executed, but when it was working it worked very well.

      1. Scromes1212 says:

If not that album then what album? This hasn’t been the best year for hip hop. In my opinion.

        1. The Gary Group says:

          Game 1992
          Dave East Kairi Chanel
          Albums of the Year

          1. Scromes1212 says:

            Lol yeah you reaching bro.

          2. The Gary Group says:

            So who you got then?

          3. Scromes1212 says:

Di Khalid, Ye, Chance ( if it qualified), ATCQ. That’s off the top of my head but I could be leaving one or two out. It’s been a slow year to me.

          4. The Gary Group says:

All weirdos except Tribe. Get that silly music outta here.

          5. Scromes1212 says:

Now you hating lol it’s all hip hop bro.

          6. Real says:

No, it’s not. It’s a new genre.I would call it ‘weirdo’ or ‘gay music’.

          7. Scromes1212 says:

I’m speaking on people that actually have a shot.

          8. The Gary Group says:

A shot at what?!? You talking bout sales? We’re talking about quality music. That’s what’s wrong with the average consumer nowadays. They’ve been conditioned to believe that sales equate to quality.

          9. Scromes1212 says:

I’m talking about the actual award. I feel what your saying.

          10. Savimbi says:

I don’t know about Dave East, but I hear you on 1992, although the numbers were short, if we talking strictly quality it’s definitely up there for album of the year.

        2. BK James says:

I would probably give album of the year to Danny Brown. Also, don’t forget Life of Pablo came out in 2016. Then if you count mixtapes like Coloring Book I might not even put Tribe’s album in the top 5.

          1. Scromes1212 says:

I’ll give you coloring book if it was a album but it’s not. I don’t think it’s going to qualify. Pablo is cool but Danny is not getting nominated. I’m sure Tribe gets nominated with what they have to pick from this year.

          2. BK James says:

Don’t forget that the holiday season is coming up so there are bound to be a few more big albums left for 2016. But yeah, Tribe will probably get the nomination. Views probably will too. Doesn’t mean that either of them were actually album of the year. I’ll still stick with Atrocity Exhibition.

          3. Scromes1212 says:

Yeah a lot of artist say they coming fourth quarter so that could shake things up but they will definitely be nominated.

          4. Real says:

The Life of Pablo was more inconsistent than ATCQ. As a hip hop fan, I can’t appreciate the music of Kanye West, Chance, Young Thug, Justin Bieber, Desiigner and Lil Yachty.

          5. BK James says:

If you can’t appreciate Kanye, Chance, Thugger or Yachty what kind of hip hop fan are you? An old school one, I guess, but are you really a fan of the genre as a whole? Just because you don’t like these artists does not mean they are not ‘real’ hip hop. Of course they are. And they have a wider fanbase than most artists of any genre these days so they are the ones keeping hip hop alive. You don’t have to get with the times, but you are the only one that suffers. The rest of us are just enjoying the music, wether its by a group that has been around for decades or some up and coming teenager. If I like how it sounds, I like it. And I happen to like Kanye, Change, Thugger and Yachty a lot! But that doesn’t stop me from liking Tribe, Biggie, Tupac, Big L, etc. The more music I have at my disposal the better. You can’t just keep playing the same old shit day in and day out. That would be mindless and boring for me.

          6. Real says:

I listen to different styles and different eras (Vince Staples, Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Schoolboy Q, Action Bronson, J. Cole, De La Soul, Common, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Run the Jewels, Lupe Fiasco, Ghostface Killah, Pusha T, etc.). I’m not an old school hip hop fan, I’m a hip hop fan. On the other hand, Young Thug, Future and Lil Yachty have little to no talent and just mumble into some 808 filter on another generic Metro beat. They may be hip hop artists, but at the end of the day they can’t rap, write, sing and they are ignorant as shit.

          7. BK James says:

I don’t like Future either. His lyrics are terrible. But Young Thug is quite the opposite. He has some of the craziest, unique, and unexpected lyrics I have ever heard. Not just in rap, but in any genre or in poetry which is what I study in college. If you can’t understand Young Thug’s lyrics that is on you. I don’t have trouble making our his lyrics. Sometimes it takes a couple listens, but that gives it replayabiliy. But if you actually take the time to listen you will see him and Future have almost nothing in common. One is boring and repetitive, and the other is Young Thug. Yachty is just coming up and he already has a lot of great songs. Again, I don’t have an issue making out what he is saying. I like all those artists you mentioned too, with Pusha T and Jadakiss being my favorite rappers. But If you don’t think Young Thug can rap you need to clean your ears out.

          8. Simon Phoenix says:

“If you can’t appreciate Kanye, Chance, Thugger or Yachty what kind of hip hop fan are you?”

A real one. Anybody with “Lil” is their name should be disqualified from being considered Hip Hop. Rap maybe, but not Hip Hip. Thug and Yachty are an embarrassment.

        3. Dialtone says:

I agree Lord HANDS down cats ant Fucking With this Album!!!! PURE DOPE!!!!!! This that SHIT RIGHT HERE!!!!! From beginning to end CLASSIC!!!!

          1. Scromes1212 says:

I’m with you! I can’t understand how people could say anything less. In my opinion.

      2. Simon Phoenix says:

Inconsistent? All over the place? Not at all. Very fluid and concise IMO.
