“Ether” vs “Takeover” Used On ESPN

Saga Continues

The ever popular debate between “Ether” and “Takeover” will forever live on. During the discussion of the LeBron James and Charles Barkley debacle on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ yesterday, co-host, Max Kellerman compared it to the battle between Esco and Hov, favoring the latter (7:30 mark). How you like that?

Max Kellerman was signed as a rapper to Columbia!!!
Just type in YouTube ‘Max & Sam’ and you’ll hear Max spitting like Eminem years before Em even came out.

Dude’s whole life is steeped in hip hop.

  • max kellerman my nigga i know he white but dude stay thrill

I would like to see how Lebron would have played back in Barkleys heyday when the game was actually physical and whistles weren’t blown every 3 seconds

  • Hit Em Up

Hit’Em Up is the quintessential diss track. Also, other diss songs by Makaveli. The g.o.a.t period.

It’s kind of backwards. Jay was the LeBron here with the super ugly track…..strictly ether vs takeover he’s right. But jay vs nas…jay is the one who “went out of bounds”

Lol max made the argument why ether won then said but Jay won typical white boy populist opinion. You could tell he think it’s cool to talk rap another culture vulture smh.BTW in Jays own words”The joneses can’t keep up maybe my nigga Nas but I got stronger after ether” for the ultra confident hov to say that plus that radio interview after the results its clear NAS won period stop the revisionist history

The argument then & now is very simple. What Barkley said was 100% correct Lebron is always either bitching/flopping or complaining when shit doesn’t go his way, when it does the world is great! The things he said about Charles were real but they were personal. Charles never said Lebron was a scumbag or a bad person. Takeover v/s Ether forget about the beats if you are a person that believes in facts then Takeover was better. If you are the person who gets off on who said the funniest put downs then Ether was your shit! Nas’ fans including my brother don’t like to admit before that battle most people weren’t even thinking about Nas. Most people in Hip Hop culture love beef between artist why because it gives them something to get excited about & they know they wont get hurt. It’s like finding out 2 “tough” dudes got beef, amping up the hype, choosing a side then watching a fight in high school. You may care who wins but 9 times out of 10 you don’t really care because your not the one getting swung on.
