2018 AMAs Performances & Winners

Hip Hop Favorite

It was a Cardi B takeover during last night’s American Music Awards. Leading the ceremony with the most nods, Cardi brought her culture by turning L.A. Microsoft Theater into theBardi Gang Social Club with her stunning performance of “I Like It” with J Balvin and Bad Bunny. The Bronx rapper took home the Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist, Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Song (“Bodak Yellow“) and Favorite Soul/R&B Song (“Finesse (Remix)“).

Post Malone was also on hand and delivered a fiery performance with Ty Dolla $ign for “Psycho” followed by “Better Now“. He walked away with two awards including Favorite Pop/Rock Artist and Favorite Hip Hop Album (Beerbongs & Bentleys). 

Meanwhile, Ciara took things up to another level and brought out Missy Elliott for their “Level Up(Remix)” and Jennifer Lopez gave a captivating performance of “Limitless”. This year’s Favorite Male Soul/R&B Artist Khalid took it to the “Eastside” with Benny Blanco and Halsey and Ella Mai interacted with the audience for the fan favorite, “Boo’d Up.”

Other big wins throughout the evening included the Migos (Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock), Rihanna (Favorite Female Soul/R&B Artist), the Black Panther Soundtrack (Favorite Soundtrack), XXXTentacion’s 17 (Favorite Album – Soul/R&B), and Young Thug, who grabbed Favorite Music Video, Favorite Song – Pop/Rock and Collaboration of the Year thanks to Camila Cabello’s chart-topper, “Havana“.
