Missy Elliott Inducted in Songwriters Hall of Fame

Missy Misdemeanor Elliott made history last night (June 13) as the first female rapper inducted at the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

At the 50th annual gala in New York City’s Marquis Marriott Hotel, the legendary songwriter and producer was presented the award by Queen Latifah.

During Missy’s accepting speech, former First Lady Michelle Obama shared her congratulations in a thoughtful video message. To top off the evening, rapper and singer, Lizzo honored Missy with a performance of her hit, “Sock It 2 Me”. Congrats!
