      1. Abe6772 says:

Sorry brah, i didn’t mean offend. Now, stop living in the past, this dude’s a hasbeen, bruh.

    1. cannon says:

easily. wayne put a dying dynasty on his back and made it HOT again. weezys a 5’6″ beast.

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

        cant argue with that

    2. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

He’s one of the greatest rap artists of all time but he’s not doing Legendary things yet so he doesn’t deserve that tag yet. Jay Z (Age 40+) is selling out ARENAS worldwide, seating 50+ thousand people per event. He makes way more on a 10 city/country tour than Wayne makes on a 40 city national tour. With his forward thinking business ventures, the list of legendary shit goes on and on for Jay. Wayne deserves to be celebrated as one of the best but Legendary is a bit of a stretch. That word “legendary” is a heavy ass word.

      1. It's Just Music says:

it’s not up to us to say he’s legendary, or to say Jay is legendary.

The generations after us when we are long gone and so are Jay and Wayne decide that. If their material can stand the test of time, they are legends, if not, they will be forgotten. That’s how it works.

People still talk about Beethoven and Mozart, so yeah those dudes are legends.

        1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

who made up that rule? I’m celebrating his impact while he’s living. Rock fans do it for their rock heroes and most of them dont hold a candle to what Jay has done. None of the Beatles are worth more than Jay Z and these are the BEATTLES im talking!

          1. Chris M says:

individually they are not but as a group their music is worth billions and I may be wrong about Paul not being worth more than Jay. Rock groups are not legends while they perform. Name one Rock group considered a legend while they were still making classics? The Beatles are OLD. The Stones are old and not relevant anymore but are legends because of their past hits. Homie above is right. You can be hot now but your legend status comes way after you are current and relevant.

      2. ripper says:

man ueono which place is worldwide for you ,your home and your frens or your country there are more than 246 countries in this world and may be jay z can sell arenas in 2 of them hardly fuck what u talkin abt
go watch the youtube video”jay z in australia with u2″watch it and tell me what do you think plz
or watch uncle snoop eminem and how nelly and other artists do and then rephrase your word

  2. It's Just Music says:

this is going to be dope. Can’t wait to watch it!

Lol. How the fuck do you say “DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!” while hating on everyone’s opinion? Lol fuck the internet bruh. Either way, these CRWN interviews are awesome & this shit really made me appreciate Wayne again. He set the bar as far as work ethic & etching out an incredible space in pop culture. Gotta give props where it’s due, man. I hope Carter V is fire.

        1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Yeah that shit fucking urks a niggas nerves.

      3. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

      1. DaTruthWillSetUFree says:

SMH don’t bring Pusha T old ass into this.

My Name is My Name barely went aluminum nigga.

Wayne a beast. Pusha T mad. U mad.

        1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Dammit man! I would take Pusha’s music over 2013 Wayne any-day but in terms of impact, Wayne wins hands down. MNIMN was critically acclaimed though so it depends on what were talking about.

        2. Fidel Cashflow says:

          lol @ aluminum

  6. HHH says:

Wayne is the perfect example of a Has Been (insert word here, dope, the best, lyrical) but that all came to an end before that RIkers sentence. Since then its just been going downhill. His sells dont reflect that cause his fans are still hungry and the pop listeners like whatever the black kids listen to…

Hip Hop reviewers, not just the mags that know little to nothing about hip hop, keep saying the same thing. “this is no Carter 3”, “only SOME stand out tracks” while niggas on here and other blogs seem to only check for guest features and beats.

Thats telling when looking back at 2007/08 when dude had the rap game in the palm of his hands.

    1. tututhebadboy says:

Greatness never seems to last forever. He still did everything you said.. he’s not a has been. Damn, how bout the times have just changed. Why are ppl so quick to switch up on somebody who they said was a favorite just cuz that artist grew up?? Not saying you said that, I mean generally. But you know your share of Wayne & you pointed out the yrs he absolutely couldn’t be neglected as one of if not the best so yea.. I feel u, there was a decline & it was indeed quite rapid. But he still gathered more business (clothing, etc) & while the YM brand isn’t as good as it was, they take chances & sign folks often, while keeping the starting roster at work. Success reads different to everyone but the last thing this guy is is a has been, or washed up. Even he knows he’s on the verge of retirement but thats been the plan, Wayne always called that around this age.

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Shit, you couldn’t tell Jay Z that. His on his like 10 or 11 platinum, #1 album. Selling out Fucking arenas… in my opinion that would be the definition of a “Legendary” rap artist.

        1. tututhebadboy says:

Who said anything abt Jay-z? Why would you try & compare the 2?..Nigga of coarse Jay is a legend. We not talking abt him & we’re not talking about who’s on whatever list. I simply said Wayne is not some has been, or washed up. Thats the point Im tryna prove. Not Who’s who’s favorite rapper or any of that. Wayne isn’t my favorite by far.. but I can’t deny great..& that nigga was great for a while. Hell it didn’t get like that til Jay said it himself. Yea tho, this here was bout Wayne not Jay or your other favs.

          1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Chill, Power Ranger! i wasn’t agreeing with you. It was just crazy to me that Jay defied the opinion that you had, which was a true opinion. And everybody doesn’t “tours” in Europe, they do a shows here and there. Jay is the only rapper doing 10 city tours in Europe. either way i wasn’t disagreeing with you, there are just 1 or 2 exceptions that keep defying those odds. nothing to argue over.

          2. Bryan Glenn Jones says:

ill listen to ur music @ https://www.facebook.com/hiph0plives

        2. tututhebadboy says:

Oh & a side not.. everybody big does a world tour…mostly. As in “strictly for Europe my nigga!”

          1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

just because people doing shows all bout the place doesn’t mean they are on tour. Beyond that, Jay Z is packing out arenas with 50+ thousand fans per show. these other rappers are doing 10 thousand people max a show internationally. I wasn’t trying to derail your point so lets not go left with this shit.

          2. tututhebadboy says:

U went completely left… & I WAS arguing over what I was talking abt. Nobody jumped crazy at you..I just don’t get why you’re trying to prove all this stuff abt Jay randomly.. even with the tour shit. I didn’t say they did as good as Jay, but a world tour is a world tour bra. The artist Im talking abt do world tours for their albums just like Jay & Bey do.. thru Europe & all that.. thats regular shit..Jay didn’t start that. They just had the best ones. I just don’t see why you even brought anything up at all honestly…this is a Wayne post.. we was talking bout Wayne…smh.

          3. juice says:

it dont even matter lil wayne still making more money then jay z and beyonce put together

          4. juice says:

it dont even matter lil wayne still making more money then jay z and beyonce put together

  7. Wash heights says:

We need a 50 Cent CRWN by June.. I’ll pay for that.

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

lmao, you didn’t even listen to his last mixtape… c’mon, tell the truth now!

  8. BasedTy says:

Do you guys realize Wayne isn’t “That Guy” anymore. the torch has been passed to Drake as the best out by the mainstream standards. People are still holding him to the same standard that is “Tha Carter 3” and previous works mainly including that MEAN feature run. If you pay attention the only thing that has seemed to change was the content which sounds limited to sex at times. But the albums follwing his Riker release contain some good songs just the whole album wasn’t bangers or that great compared to previous stuff but he still puts out some decent songs but Dedication 4 was like the only letdown as far as songs go for me but he came back to a better form on Dedication 5. His verse on Rick Ross album was cool and he said himself that he’s putting his all into CV so I’m betting on it and will be listening to it as a fan.

    1. sharqganq says:

That might be true, except I still believe C5 WILL easily outsell NWTS, just like C4 easily outsold take care

  9. R-C says:

I Honestly Feel Like That Last Thing Wayne Went Hard On Was No Ceilings. Its Like After He Was Released From Jail…His Whole Flow Changed. Listen To No Ceilings <Pre Jail And Then Listen To Everything He Released After That. Wayne Was Great At One Point But I Believe Now His Name Holds More Weight Than His Actual Raps Nowadays. This Is Just My Opinion. He Can Still Rap But As Fan I Know This I'snt The Mixtape Weezy We All Loved At One Point Who Killed Every Track/Feature He Was On.

    1. Free says:

6 Foot 7 Foot was pretty fucking dope bruh

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

        alarm clock beat

    2. McGrahamable says:

Don’t mean to hate on opinion lol but have you listen to all his others albums at all? I dont mean a new Wayne single here and there I mean the entire album.

  10. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

Definitely one of the best to do it, and before Rikers… one of the best definitely. You guys remember ‘Single” man… that was the peak. I liked the verse on Big Sean’s album in terms of recent.

  11. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

They clipped his wings in terms of subject matter re: probation.

  12. FreSH82 says:

When it’s all said and done Wayne will go down as 1 of the best ever in Hip-Hop.. His overall impact on the culture is damn near 1 of a kind.. Dude started winning at a very young age and stayed consistent in the game.. C5 will be fire!

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

      cant argue with that.

  13. B_G_ says:

I believe the only CRWN episodes I watched are Jay’s, Drake’s, an actor whom I can’t recall at the moment & now this one. IDGAF about interviews from too many artists but when a pretty dope journalist like Yella Nigga interviews one of the few I fuck w/ I gotta tune in.
P.S. Only ones left I’d guaranteed fuck w/ are Dr. Dre, Premo, Nas, 50 & maybe Birdman so make those shits happen YN.

  14. kanye west says:

    wayne dope

  15. Piege says:

Tell me how you talk about the biggest artist of the 2000s and try not to mention T.I. Who was the biggest!!!

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

i agreed with the first part but not the second part. just based on album sales and global impact alone Wayne and Kanye demolished Tip. With that said I’m more a T.I. fan than a Wayne and Ye fan. So i like your comment because i’m biased.

  16. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

Wack Weezy is the Epitome of what of a wack rapper is.

  17. inthestudyo says:

    This is not working

  18. Piege says:

T.i. Was the biggest over the last 10 years I hate people try to discredit him him and wanye was our Big and PAC minus the controversy… 6 platinum albums 1 gold for t.i.

    1. MusicHead says:

T.I. wasn’t bigger than Ye or Wayne. Top had a good 06&07 that’s it..he was consistent b4 that but those years stated was his peak. Ye & Wayne’s runs were def longer.

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

he’s right! i rock with that niggas music but that’s incorrect regarding numbers. Ye and Wayne Shitted on T.I. numbers.

    2. It's Just Music says:

TI no way in hell was the biggest artist in the last 10 years.
He had a decent run but Wayne and Ye were just out performing him in every single area.

TI is a snitch ass dude anyways. He does the whole gun talk music, then gets sentenced to jail, and then makes a peaceful Paper Trail album to show the judge he changed. He’ll never get that respect from me,

  19. Rennerozay says:

Great interview . You can tell Wayne’s a fun down the earth person to be around

  20. Real talk says:

Kanye was big no doubt thanks to 50 cent but far as overall it was Wanye running the mixtapes and T.I. Running the industry putting out the best album period… And still

    1. Justin TimberBAKED says:

Hahahaha kanye was big before 50!!! Smh

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Much Bigger! College dropout fucked 50’s gangster music shit ALL the way up when it came out. That Kanye is a strange MF but he’s a genius where music is concerned.

    2. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Which rap scene are you watching. Youtube both of these guys music and look at how many songs Ye has hundreds of millions of views on. T.I. might have one or 2 songs with hundreds of millions of views. Kanye triples the amount of hit records my man T.I. has. Kanye spent T.I.s net worth trying to starting a clothing company.

  21. Justin TimberBAKED says:

Weezy is a fucking legend!!! I may not like a few of his songs nowadays, but there’s no way I’m gonna 4get what that nigga did 2 the game.

    1. Michael Ibbett says:

Lol funny you said did TO the game and not for it…I get down with his Shit once in a while tho

  22. EVENODD says:

Can’t believe people still out here on Wayne’s dick. Young Money falling apart and it’s common knowledge that they only sign wack artists. Pop in the Carter 1 and 2 and pretend it’s new…that’s the only way y’all getting good material from this washed up martian. He’s like a black Ozzy Osbourne, done did so many drugs that he can’t even put together a coherent sentence.

  23. MrSkeezyMak says:

    Elliots laugh… da fuck?

    1. nicoswebaby says:

yeah, sounds like Jadakiss has the same laughter, but Jada realized what it sounds like and shortened it, lmao

  24. Slick Rick says:

Wayne is an overrated and untalented dumbass. No lyrics, no flow, no nothing, you guys are stupid for loving his shit like this. If you love him you simply don’t and probably won’t understand what’s a good MC. He’s rich, hes famous, he won alot of prices but who gives a shit, it’s like saying that the music on the radio is good.. because it’s on the radio. He bring nothing to Hip Hop like true living legends like Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane or even Eminem. I don’t ask you to stop listening to his crap but stop pretending he’s a legend or the goat or the best rapper alive. That’s an insult for all the real MCs out there and the hip hop itself..

    1. McGrahamable says:

Because you can’t fuck with it don’t make it wack. I don’t listen to any of the rappers you just mentioned except eminem, believe me I’ve tried and I’m just not into it. If I were to call them wack just cuz I don’t like their music that would make me ignorant wouldn’t it. Hip hop is evolving you can either evolve with it or you can stick with what you know and like and please stop shitting on people in the comments because they don’t share the same opinion as you.

    2. It's Just Music says:

Kool G Rap and Big Daddy Kane?

Cock sucker this is 2014, get your head of the 90s.

Hip-Hop is passed the art of ‘MC’s’, graffiti, break dancing and all that old shit,

Wayne has a HUGE catalog of material. Even a Wayne stan will always find songs from 5-6 years ago that they never heard. Yes his catalog after No Ceilings sucks ass, but there are some gems and classics in there.

Wayne has also been a huge force in pushing rap into international popularity and revolutionizing the mixtape circuit. Dude was releasing top of the line quality music for FREE just for the FUCK of it.

Dude has 109 songs that made billboard for christ sake’s.
I understand the dude is garbage NOW, but dude is a legend just for the huge impact he had on the culture.

    3. Theodore Pendergrass says:

CO-SIGN THAT. ALWAYS THOUGHT JUVIE WAS BETTER.

  25. alexgt says:

i don’t really mess with Wayne’s music and never really dug him at all. but he seems a lot more humble and approachable these days. good for him

  26. LilWaynesFaceTat says:

This dudes laugh is beyond annoying

    1. Matthew Parker says:

He laughed way too hard at 0:56. Shit wasn’t even funny. The sad thing is he knows his laugh is bad too.

  27. disqus_R0wVfYtgDK says:

This my dude rite here! Always has and always will be. I been fucking wit dude since he was 15 and I was 9. Wayne is the perfect example of greatness. He even said it himself “hot dies out, I wanna be great.” It goes beyond lyrics with this guy. Personally I just like to hear what he has to say more than actually listen to the music and that’s saying a lot seeing as how much I fuck and fucked wit my mans catalog. I could go on or hours if not days on this guy but he’s definitely one of the greatest artists in general to ever do it!

  28. EricHeisenberg says:

just downloaded 500 degreez and the block is hot.

  29. EricHeisenberg says:

after the carter 2 his shit been as as hell

  32. @YankeeLuvnGiant says:

not a big wayne fan but i respect son, he had his run like a champ and now he gonna collect checks like a motherfucker…gotta respect that

  33. When it’s all said and done, one word, Legend.

  34. ATL says:

    1. Jiggaman says:

He was 2/2 with informative ones

  39. Khaleel Ward says:

Good interview. B.Dot asked 2 really good questions.

  40. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

thanks YN , really enjoyed that. bigups Wayne!

  41. DJ EEZS says:

    He’s very intelligent

  42. WilliamWoodruffAtwater says:

    dat laugh doe.

  43. Man, when Wayne took his shades off for the Q and A to really listen to what the fans had to ask; it felt way more authentic to me! That was a dope interview. Interviewing people isn’t easy, but you handled it great, and you asked good quality questions. It’s great to see an interview get the emotion and personality out of the musician. You have to thank the fans for that. I would love to see more time for the fans to get there questions out. Great interview RR.

  44. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

i salute his humility and transparency in this interview. Night and day from his music but i salute him for his ambition.

  45. kanye west says:

b dot the blogger asking some dumb ass questions. lmfao

  46. THE REAL mac DIESEL says:

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  47. Ryan Carter says:

Yo Elliots laugh is annoying as fuck!!!! That shit is worst than Chanel from Ridiculousness laugh holy shit

  48. TH says:

Cool interview…but you can’t sit up there a claim you won’t battle people because your “from the streets, in the streets”…..and 15 seconds later talk about being in school, parking Lexus’s and also the $40 million deal with Universal. Doesn’t add up!

  49. RapRadar step it up says:

  51. Rareddie says:

    Wayne + Legend = Joke 😀

There is no way this guy should be considered a legend. I’m not hating. He does have some pretty good songs. But I just can’t put him in the same vicinity as Pac, Biggie, Nas, and Eminem. Like, really? You gonna put Wayne in with those guys?? The dude barely writes his own stuff, all he talks about is money and pussy, and he looks like Whoopi Goldberg on crack! On the plus side, he does have a distinct voice, which is cool at times. But sometimes he sounds like he’s choking on one of his dreads. If he is considered the best rapper right now, then we have a problem! Saying he’s legendary is crazy…. I’m sorry
