Then:

During Bush’s incumbency last year, gas prices reached an all time high. In fact, it prompted Puff to ground his private jet and fly commercial. Well 365 days later, a colored man’s in office and Diddy’s got snaps on the petro. On board with Red Cafe, they head to Vegas to celebrate Red’s birthday and watch Marquez get his ass beat.

Kanye West & Lady Gaga “Fame Kills” Promo Video

Here’s something provocative to promote two of music’s biggest artists joining forces on their upcoming tour. Don’t think this is actually Kanye or Gaga but please don’t give them any ideas. Apparently, it’s not gonna be your average rap show, kids.

New Music: Playaz Circle x Cee-Lo “In The Ghetto”

Playaz Circle

Another day, another Playaz Circle post? I don’t know what the fuck’s gotten into me. Maybe it’s limited sleep, but I kinda dig this one. Goodie Mob’s leader takes over chorus duties for another joint from the Duffle Bag Boys. The chick at the end is mad annoying gettin’ her Big Rube on, but I can let it slide. Hey, it’s not like I’m gonna buy the album. Let’s not get crazy now. Sorry, AJ. Ha!

New Video: The Roots “How I Got Over” (Trailer)

This song leaked so long ago, I forgot how much I liked it. What we don’t like at the Double R is video trailers. Still Ahmir’s my fella with the red and white polka dot umbrella, so I’ll give them Philly cats a pass. Plus things looks interesting enough. We’ll soon see.

J.Cole Covers Jay-Z At Def Jam Hip-Hop Honors Pre-Party

Wednesday, September 23 2009 1:14 PM EST | Posted by: B.Dot | Posted in: Blog, Focus

Last night, Model/ Rapper J.Cole performed at VH1′s pre-party at Club Touch in heart of the city. In the first video, he covers  “Dead Presidents” before rocking his own rendition off The Warm Up mixtape. Below he shakes things up with “PSA.” Too bad Hov couldn’t make it. Must’ve been triple booked in Switzerland.

Artists Test Out Timbaland’s “Beaterator”

Wednesday, September 23 2009 12:28 PM EST | Posted by: B.Dot | Posted in: Blog, Focus

Ice-T, Clinton Sparks, and Double-O give testimonials for Timabland’s new video game, Beaterator. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to test it out at Rockstar Games. (They’re our neighbors ya know). Even for a novice, the software is user friendly. From an extensive audio library, players can create, modify, and save their tracks to a personal computer. Meanwhile the voice record option replaces the traditional pen & pad. Retailing for $40 the game operates on PSP and iPhone formats. Pick it up Sept. 29th.

Lil Kim Lands On Be Entertained Magazine

What the bloodclot? On the 12th issue of Be Entertainment magazine (Never heard of it, either) Kimberly graces their front page. Now the Double R supports print, but this is one rag we’re going to ditch. If the outside looks this bad, imagine the editorial content. Hell, I don’t know who’s to blame: Adobe Photoshop or Kimmy’s plastic surgeon. Sigh. Hopefully, the Queen Bee’s rhymes remain on point.

Rims? Bling? Yeah, Lonnie’s off that. Backstage at a Hennessey Artistry event, Com says that Obama’s incumbency has contributed to Hip-Hop’s growth and development. Take that Mr. Bob Dole.

About an hour ago, Mr. Jackson appeared on Channel 5′s morning drive. He spoke on hip-hop’s maturity and explained the term, “Throw It In The Bag” to the clueless anchor on the left. Afterward, he gives a lifeless performance of the aforementioned title. I’ve heard of lazy flows, but this is just ridiculous © Balki.
