Lil Wayne On The Carter Documentary

In the new issue of Ozone, Wayne explains why he tried to thwart the release of last year’s documentary,  The Carter. According to the film’s director QD3, Weezy stopped supporting the project days before the Sundance Film Festival. There was some controversy over the release of The Carter documentary. YN Editorial: Undying Love

“Like straight up, as far as Premier’s beat style and my rhyme styles. That shit we own. You can’t duplicate that shit. Never in a fuckin’ million lifetimes.” DJ Premier speaks with his hands. “Scandalous, money, greed and lust. In this trife life, there ain’t nobody you can trust.” In deep concentration, Preem cuts the opening lyrics of Moment Of Truth‘s “Betrayal” which now have added significance. The scratches are slow and plodding. Kinda like a funeral march. But tears […]

She gives VIBE the reasoning behind her departure and broken promises. “They promised me the machine. The machine is basically the roll out. It’s ‘Yo, when [Flirt] comes out, we’ll give you this, we’ll give you that. And that’s what made me mad. It’d be different if we didn’t have a mtg where people promised me shit. If they were just like ‘Oh we’re going to put the album out and […]

[vodpod id=Video.3494450&w=425&h=350&fv=configParams%3Dinstance%3Dnews%26amp%3Bvid%3D508494] Drake explains to Sway his methodology when approaching a mixtape versus an album. In his own words, he says: “A mixtape can’t be the songs that don’t make your album, or songs that aren’t good enough to make your album make your mixtape — unless you’re that good. There aren’t that many people that are that good. I’m not that good. That mixtape [So Far Gone] is me working my hardest. It wasn’t ‘Oh, here are the songs […]
