Say it ain’t so. Contrary to previous reports, Slate reveals that Roxanne Shante was never contractually signed to Warner Bros. In fact, there’s no proof that the label paid for her college education. She admits to the site that she is not a doctor nor has a license to practice psychology (or any related field) in NY state. Lucy Roxy, you got some esplainin‘ to do.

Here’s another underwhelming track from the Bad Boy family. I’m sure after several hundred spins, it’ll “grow” on you. This that Dirty Money. And I need a shower. Download it here.

With the untimely demise of DJ AM last Friday, Activision issued this statement:
We are deeply saddened by the loss of DJ AM, who was a tremendous talent, a trusted partner and friend to DJ Hero. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. AM was instrumental in the making of DJ Hero and we hope that his work on the game will be a fitting tribute to his creative spirit and musical talent.

The Good News: Today, Good Morning America aired footage of Whitney Houston’s performance yesterday in Central Park. In front of 5,000 she ran through some oldies and goodies and even brought out her baritoned daughter, Lil Mama Bobbi Kristina to assist on “My Love Is Your Love.”
The Bad News: Today, Good Morning America aired footage of Whitney Houston’s performance yesterday in Central Park. And to be frank, she sounded like shit. According to the NY Daily News, before performing “Every Woman” she said “I’m so sorry. I did Oprah. I’ve been talking for so long. … I talked so much, my voice. I shouldn’t be talking. I should be singing.” Chaka Khan is probably somewhere pissed. I Look To You is in stores now.

The bridge is over, my dick! In an interview with Street Disciplez Radio, MC Shan takes a #1…and a #2 on Joe Budden. Around the 1:20 mark, he challenges Mr. Tahiry to a fair one.

Although he was never signed to the house that Russell and Rubin built, Slim Shady still is fittingly payin’ tribute in VH1′s upcoming tribute to Def Jam Records. Em joins other confirmed guests like Mary J. Blige, DMX and Public Enemy. Get the feeling “Jason from Miami” is gonna do an Uncle L tune, hmm. Show airs Oct. 13. Score another one for Video Hits One.

With all due respect to Dwayne and Curtis, this is the Behind The Music special I can’t wait to see. Mr. Brown!
“After being kicked out of New Edition and independently establishing himself as the undisputed “King of R&B,” Bobby spun himself into a fast life of drugs and women. Brown eventually married American Pop Princess, Whitney Houston and after an 11-year publically turbulent marriage the two divorced. Bobby Brown relays his life in the spotlight and all of the hardships and glories that he’s faced as one of the most controversial entertainers in R&B,” VH1 wrote in a release describing the forthcoming episode. Network sources say the forthcoming episode, documenting Brown’s career, both past and present, will air September 24.
Like I said, I’m there. Might need a Kleenex. Fuckin’ sad tragic tale.

“I don’t fuck with pigs like Asalaam Alaykum.”
This is the joint ole girl performed when I saw her on the AMW tour. I said it before and I’ll say it again, she’s definitely easy on the eyes but…wow. “You can’t be serious!” © Earl Simmons
