No Release Date For Drake

drake

In an interview with Rap-Up, Drake says he doesn’t have a release date yet for his debut album, Thank Me Later. He also denies that his track, “Shut Em Down” with The-Dream is his first single. Hopefully, we’ll get a confirmation sooner than later.

  3. Tiffany says:

I thought his debut album was already out? I could have sworn i saw a commercial for it….oh well…

  4. Alpha says:

Another artist about to get raped by the major labels…

  5. SO ICY BOI says:

@ Tiffany that was his mixtape LP on sale not his actual album…………..But cash money always slow with the dates Lil Wayne was suppose to drop tha carter 3 4 years before it drop……..And Omarion said he left because dey wanted to hold his album bak and he wanted to release it this year or January they wanted to release his album spring or summer 2010

  6. Rhyme says:

umm, never remember 50 having a hard time releasing GRODT, Drake had the buzz, but lack the epicness, maybe because it was manufactured. best i ever had & successful were cool, but not epic level. wonder what kind of hits he can come up with, he has pressure on him now.

  7. Toya says:

    @ Tiffany,
Thank God I’m not the only one that thought this!
I have a feeling people might be over this guy by the time he really does drop an album.

  8. bk maarten says:

  10. hevaoc says:

yeah I dont find anything great about this guy….he’s a girl rapper and he’s boring as fuck

  11. J. Mandering says:

    He missed his window.

Instead of being greedy and trying to play the major label game the nigga should have just put it out himself.

  12. eightysbaby says:

I can officially say, I no longer care. With the smoke and mirrors coming out of this hype machine, it will be more and more difficult for him to live up to this, we’ll see tho.

  13. goldxfish says:

He shouldve have put it out himself, he had one of the biggest buzzes of all time — he shouldve captialized on it! I definately thought he was going to release it himself and change the game but I guess thats for someone else to do — he could’ve really left his mark, I hope he doesn’t fizzle away before his release. He’s a real talented man — I bet his album sounds like what would happen if Kanye was still on his 808s [singing] sh[x]t but still wanted to do a rap album.

  14. Bruce says:

WHO CARES ABOUT THIS FUNNY LOOKING NIGGA…

  15. teejay says:

Young Money today is like the Aftermath of 2000-2005, if you’re not the flagship artist (Dre, Em, 50, Wayne) you’re fucked. You’ll go platinum but no one will care. Drake was supposed to be Young money’s 50, but i think the ship has sailed. There was a time where drake could have put ANYTHING out and it would have been considered a classic, but its gone now.

Maybe someone needs to shoot drake 9 times.

  16. vigoronline says:

I support Drizzy. You don’t have that many artists that can spit hot bars and shine on collabos w/ artists such as Weezy and Yeezy. Then Drake can flip it by singing on some melodic songs, such as “Something” and “Little Bit.” He gives hip-hop more dimension. On the other hand, I agree that he does need to capitalize on his success by releasing Thank Me Later asap. The debut is slated for a Feb. 2010 release.

  17. Ac@pella! says:

Stop frontin niggaz. Ya’ll may be sick of his ass, I know I am, but when “Thank Me Later” finally comes out, that’s exactly whatchu niggaz’ll do: Thank him later. He said he was shooting for Valentine’s Day, but u know, perfection takes time. I’m pretty sure it’ll be dope and sell a lot of records.

  18. themanefromthebane says:

the fact that he is the number one post and we all care so much and have an opinion on it (even though most of you haters have the same one), tells us that his buzz in nowhere near over. if your gonna hate, just hate to love.

wait for the album to be great…

  19. Jimbo Slice says:

I know this. Because Young money’s all over the place and no matter how you look at it. Being signed to another artist with a president who is vested in any one project is problematic. especially when the project is the guy who signed you. The first single came and went and wasnt timed out properly to account for it being hot and drake’s album wasnt done. There fore it was promo/marketing dollars waisted. Then there’s all of these records he’s on, diverting from the issue. “HIS SHIT” So what ends up happening is, all of his records for other people divert from the issue that Universal JUst “overly paid for” and now they have to let all of that dissipate to focus all the media on just him. the campaign was disjointed from the outside looking in. “Remi and drake” should’ve made the project but didnt have a place to sit http://www.reverbnation.com/blastmusicconcepts

  20. Brent says:

^Forever wasn’t the first single. it was an old song they re recorded and added verses to for a movie.

You all seem to forget that an artist needs to record an album before they can release it.

Personally, I’d rather listen to an album than Buzz. because no matter how big an artists buzz is, if he releases shit and goes double diamond, buzz wont make the music good. Give the kid time, fuck buzz.
