IMO it depends on what part of the South you’re from. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, the Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas… okay. Arkansas… Yeah, you should be ashamed. and most originators from the golden era + the pioneers from the east coast would say the same about much of the trash coming from the northern states too. so who defines hip hop? they used to, when they were the only niggas doing it. now, they aren’t. we are…and “we” is every coast. so we’re all doing it. some better than others, but that isn’t coast specific.

The south never fully recovered from the civil war. Just in general, the quality of life is better ANYWHERE else.
