Wait, stop the party! Eight years after Nas dropped his classic collection of unreleased music, he announced via his Twitter account today that he’s working on a sequel. Nasty!

How can you “work” on an a compilation of unreleased music? The only thing he’s working on is sequencing the record. All the records should be done, if it is indeed a “lost tapes” kind of deal.

Nas and Jay have always been in two different races. Jay Z craves commercial success and attention “you my brother, but you traded your soul for riches” – Ether, while Nas stays true to himself regardless of what’s “hot” at the moment. This and many other reasons is why Nas is the best in my opinion. Thanks for reading.

I guess the work entails picking what records make the cut from the vault, sequencing, arrangements, clearing samples, etc. shit like that. I’m sure he still has to get the records mastered. I don’t know how in the hell he’s gonna top the unreleased joints off Lost Tapes Vol 1 though, but who knows. Nas is full of surprises so I can’t wait for it to drop.
I was also thinking about the time period that Lost Tapes 1 dropped and how the game is so much different now. Like I had most of the records from LT1 on bootleg cassette tapes that I got my hands on in the street cuz a lot of that material was supposed to be on “I AM” that dropped in 1998. Although I most likely heard the stuff that he may put on LT2 I sure as hell don’t have them in crisp CD quality so that’ll be a plus, that’s enough to hold me over until the next solo album drops.
