@Jav D.C. is historically in the south since it and Maryland are below the Mason-Dixon line. Nowadays the DMV has more of a Northeastern feel in the more affluent sections but it is still a region with a lot of southern influence. Three 6 Mafia, UGK and No Limit were all well respected in the D.C. region. Wale clearly shows that he is finding his footing on that tightrope with his latest material from MMG. No hate, just facts.
He didn’t even finish his first verse audibly, though. I hope that wasn’t the final version. It just sounds kinda sloppy.

@Jordan Cohen, the beat is atleast 140 BPM I promise you, its the way the snare hits that makes you think its slow. But if it was 80 BPM or less when produced the hi-hats would not be hitting as fast. I promise you. I know what I’m talking about, I’m a producer. Beats are produced with higher BPM so you can detail the drums more, then divide that BPM by 2 to record on it.
