Big Pun Widow Upset By Joell Ortiz Track
Not everyone is happy about bringing “Big Pun Back”. Over the weekend, Pun’s widow Liza Rios turned to her Facebook page and said she felt “disrespected” by Joell Ortiz’s tribute track.
A lot of people are asking how I feel bout Joell Ortiz BIG PUN is Back. Well it was a good attempt on Joell Ortiz part BUT a BIG PUN he will Never be! Found it a bit disrespectful that he would say he the next Christopher Lee Rios to say the least.. With no regard to Me and My family especially My Son PUN’S Only Son which should Be the ONLY one to Claim that BIG PUN is Back..
lke let me tell u something if Puns tourch is being passed donwn then it will be to his Son it’s His Birth right Not Joel..And the fact that he didn’t even ask to begin with to see if I was kool “Passing the tourch” is Disrespectful!! Point blank.. At the end of the Day Only how I feel matter cuz that’s My Husband My Name My Tourch to Pass!!
Joell eventually got wind of Liza’s rant and responded with the message below via his Twitter account:

Just cause you were someone wife doesn’t mean you own or have right to control non-assest matters over them, especially when it’s not something disrespecting them (the fact she says she feel disrespected does not make what Joel did disrespectful, this is music, not a personal thing on Pun’s character or name.
How does she expect a torch to be passed on to a son who does not even rap, probably? This is just controlling like all women are. This type of torch being passed-on is not genetic, but simply musical. Pun’s “torch” does not belong to her son. The people MADE BIG PUN, not Christopher Rios, but PUN, so the PEOPLE CAN DECIDE who the torch goes to, and if Joel fits the bill so be it.
If his other family approves then who is she? hmmm. no longer his wife. She’s, wants to be controller of people’s nostalgia and sentiments over him? Crazy chic!
If Pun means that much to her why not stay single, and never screw another guy? But no, it’ only matters if it’s something that could profit her or to be a controlling cursed women.
