50 Cent Releasing A Book On Bullying

How’s this for irony? The rapper who is most well-known for picking beefs with Hip Hop’s top MCs is writing a book about bullying. Curtis Jackson will be penning a novel titled, Playground, which is centered around a 13-year-old bully “who finds redemption as he faces what he’s done” and is scheduled for a January 2012 release. Fif says:

“I had a strong desire to write ‘Playground’ because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully. I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life. This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers.”

Fif is no stranger to bookstores. In 2005 he made his debut with From Pieces to Weight and then followed up with his latest, The 50th Laws of Power in 2008.

    Sample

Curtis Jackson was raised by his mother, Sabrina, who gave birth to him at the age of fifteen.
Sabrina, a cocaine dealer, raised Jackson until the age of twelve, when she was murdered in 1988.
Jackson began drug dealing at the age of twelve during the 1980s crack epidemic.
He also took guns and drug money to school. In the tenth grade, he was caught by metal detectors at Andrew Jackson High School.
After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, he was shot at and struck by nine bullets during an incident in 2000.

They say you can never repay the price for takin´ a man´s life
I´m in debt with Christ, I done did that twice

  14. Truth says:

Hip hop beef is like sports rivalries…usually no one get physical beyond “the field”. What he is addressing is true bullying. I CAN NOT NOCK THIS MANS HUSTLE….ALMOST UNMATCHED BY ANY OTHER RAPPERS HUSTLE. Truth

  15. John says:

  17. Tri-Wnning says:

    Fitting
Who knows about bullying other than a bully himself? The victims. lol

  18. Humanoid says:

Political correctness has seriously gotten pathetic. We’re so concerned about hurt feelings now that BULLYS are our chief concern? Does anybody even think this is a problem that can actually be fixed? Or are we starting another War on Drugs, Terror, Hunger, etc.?

Obama has used the word “bullying” in speeches 114 times since March (as of about a week ago). Hes used the word “Libya” 19 times. Fuck this shit.

  19. Converse says:

Gangsters dont write children books lmao

This nigga is a hustler 1. He want quit 2. He will sell you anything

  20. Word says:

@really How was that a rare period? An album just did 1mil first week recently. It was a country album yeah sure, but C3 was partly pop anyway especially with the hug pop smash “LolliPOP”. Regardless, a million first week is a huge feat no matter what time period. Kanye almost did a milli first week himself with Graduation doing 900k.

Shouts out to 50 though. Imean I dont give two fucks about Bullying but hey, some ppl are too weak to stand up for themselves so im sure they’ll enjoy the book.

  21. mac DIESEL says:

  25. Word says:

    @Humanoid COSIGN!

Bullying? Lmao. Really? Thats the most pressing topic our nation faces? You cant solve Bullying. Whoever gets Bullied just needs to either man up (if they getting beat up), call for her (if they getting beat up), or just stpo being so sensitive (if its online bullying on websites and social networks). Imean its simple, only the weak hearted get bullied so easily. Sounds harsh I know but its the truth.

  26. mac DIESEL says:

    *POTENTIAL

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  27. JNasty says:

I believe 90% of all these beefs were not started by Fif, plus why is every 50 post filled with hate, if you don’t like the dude, don’t click on his articles!

  28. JNasty says:

Its all about popularity, people come and go, and people hate when guys finally get on, its a vicious cycle. Jay is one of the few that maintained his popularity, probably due to the fact he never skyrocketed with albums sales, he just always sold decent. Plus he tells stories in his raps, too many songs now are propped up by the beats and not lyrics, most songs today have too many lines about rims, paint jobs, and jewelry.

  29. Sam I Am says:

    @oktgf

    school these niggas, son

  30. John Doe says:

  33. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

I doubt any wayne, gucci, flocka fans are going to buy this book cuz they cant read..Example: So Icy Boy.

  34. Whowantwhat says:

This site has some of the corniest niggas! Niggas that know nothing about street shit but talk out they ass. Please just listen to the music don’t try to live thru it! Btw beefing on records with so called gangsta rappers is not bullying! Too many dumb fans in hip-hop! Smh

  35. RAZ says:

That’s like Ricky releasing a book called :”How to Survive in Prison…”

  36. better putsome water on that damn shit!!! says:

  39. therealest says:

50 cent knows the beef is for record sales, he also knows bullying aint cool, and he wouldnt want his son getting bullied.

  40. Donn says:

  41. GTFO says:

@Donn, by this point everybody here realizes that u have no idea what is going on when it comes to hip hop. Why do u still post?

  46. sway-z says:

Anybody who ever heard 50 actually speak on this subject knows that he learned to box BECAUSE niggas was bullying him 1st!

MOST kids that become aggressive do that as defense from being picked on. Mike Tyson is the perfect example.

  47. Koola says:

Waynes a fag, 50 a real boss not musically tho HAHAHA!

  48. The Greatest says:

    @sway-z

Muhammed Ali is the perfect example. Dude started boxing because his bike got stolen.

  49. sway-z says:

    @ The Greatest

True indeed, most boxers or niggas in aggressive lines of work usually have a similar story. I know Tyson talks all the time about how bullies used to fuck with him, it wasn’t until they fucked around with his pigeons that shit got serious tho lol, niggas been getting knocked out ever since

  50. Spinz says:

LOL at Fif! been bumpung this new 50 cent blend tape all week http://www.dopebox.net/dj-lennox-50-cent-return-of-the-boom-bap.

  51. One of the young brothers who is on the same mission to some extent with his ‘No Bull’ outreach also addressing bullying and youth in business as a option contacted my office today and wanted me to check you out so I did.

I like what you have chosen today given the numbers of people old and young whose lives were impacted by some aspect of being bullied. In many cases, such as in my life, it led me to becomng a bully first physically as a kid then later in life in the entertainment and business.

Right now as a miralce survivor of youth handgun violence with one bullet yet lodged in my head against my vision center thus legally blind, I am pushing the re-linking of the old with the new moblizing old school and new school dads call Dads on Duty. What you are proposing certainly can be a catylyst for a movement in making targeting all aspects of bullying, sucidal choices, drop outs. etc. Check out Victory over Violence…or Dads on Duty on Facebook, Yourtube etc.

Ready for National Release we now have a K-12 Non-Violence Curriculum HUYOE ie Hold Up Your Own End” which which uses curricula supported by antimated characters to assist youth to deal with cognitive development as they address bullying and all other suicidal choices. It is coupled with V-Advantage a K-12 Educational Software which allows Hip Hop Generation Parents as well is Old School grandparents parents to make sure that their own children not fail National Standard Testing Requirements. If any of this in any way interests you give us a holla. Either way, we stand for Victory over Violence as a Campaign/ Movement thus you have our support and we will post what you are doing both here in USA and our relations in UK and Italy.

  53. llll says:

@really….If everyone was doing it then why didn’t Wayne sell 1 mill back in 03-05?

  54. god loves ugly,….you haters will never be happy

  55. JNasty says:

Because Wayne sucked before Carter III, I will put it out there, 50 was right when he was promoting the Massacre, no one could name a Lil Wayne single, I mean c’mon “go DJ” really, get outta here. Lil Wayne had a massive Mainstream hit in “Lollipop” once you hit with that audience, you are golden. 50 did the same with In Da Club, and Jay did it with Empire State Of Mind with the help o Alicia Keys. Mainstream = more people that jump on the bandwagon, the problem is those same people fall off and jump on whats new!

  56. kendra says:

that is very good that he is making a book on bullying cause he know,s what the deal is.that,s good stuff there that he wants to communicate with the teenagers of today cause 1 person can make a difference believe it or not nuff said thou…
