YN’s Jay-Z stannery is just based on the fact that he thinks Jay is the greatest hip-hop artist ever. Maybe you have to know YN to understand why he’s such a mascot for homeboy. None of us know Elliott, so there’s no need to get worked up over it. I just wanna know if Jay’s aware of Elliott’s unapologetic career cheer leading of his and if he makes fun of YN in private. Ha.

Seriously though I was building with this 19 year old kid and he said “Drake is the best lyricist right now that’s holding it down.” I just looked at him like wow, cuz he really believes that.

I couldn’t or didn’t even want to debate the issue. I remember Drake saying he didn’t cry when Pac died, but he’ll cry if Jigga die. Again I was like wow.

YA FAIL TO REALIZE THAT IN THIS CLIMATE OF HIP HOP IT BEING A #1 IS NOT SURPRISING OR SUCH A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. YA FORGET ALBUMS DON’T COME OUT IN BUNCES EVERY TUES LIKE IT DID IN 1998. WHEN METH & RED AND OTHER DEF JAM ARTISTS WERE COMING OUT ON THE SAME DAY. JAY, DMX, JA-RULE AT HIS PEEK. THIS ALBUM WAS #1 CAUSE IT HAD NOTHING TO COMPETE WITH SO EVERYONE GRAVITATED TOWARDS IT. LET’S SEE HOW THIS ALBUM WOULD’VE SOLD HAD WTT, CARTER IV OR SAY AN EMINEM ALBUM CAME OUT THE SAME DAY. WTT WOULD’VE BEEN DETHRONED. IM A JAY FAN SINCE “I CANT GET WITH THAT” BUT BEING A FAN DOESNT MEAN U GOTTA ACT LIKE A GROUPIE. I CHOOSE TO SPEAK FACTS!

Good album but I was exspecting alot more from these two.. Quess I’ve been spoiled with kanyes productions and jay’s verses over the years.. Just didn’t sound hungry but hey ther gazillionares

  55. HIP-HOP HEAD says:

Im more nas and eminem fan than jay-z but respect jay-z as the king of hip-hop because he’s self made self paid and strives for mega stardom. While nas is comfortable watching the game from afar and eminem can not be king in a prodominatly black culture and even he has knows states it in numouris tracks..

    1 jay-z
    2 eminem
    3 nas or a.z.
    4 kool g rap
    5 raekwon

  57. noble1978 says:

Haters amaze me u wouldn’t know hip hop if it slapped your mother in her face. Real talk Wayne is a gimmick riding skateboards to sell records because that singing shit not popping. Drake is a r&b artist that can rap and the last two joints he dropped is garbage. Promise they will not sell more than bob and yezzy there first week. Kick rocks loser and watch greatness…….

  58. MXL says:

@Gottstan: The line goes, “I’m the king, I can never be DETHRONED.” What you said doesn’t even make sense.

Anyway, I’m eager to see YN’s reasoning behind this shocking cover line. I’d love to know how WTT is more important to the culture than “It Takes A Nation of Millions…,” “Paid In Full,” “Reasonable Doubt” or any of the other seminal, substantive albums that have come out in Hip-Hop’s 38 years. I’ll save my opinions ’til then.

On another note — great marketing, YN. Controversial statements build interest. You know exactly what what you’re doing. Kudos for that.

  63. jhuntinf says:

HATE is the new love. Music is subjective… meaning what’s good or bad music is up to who’s ever listening at the time. It seems like the race for who ever can make the most insults and say the funniest shit to down this project. It’s COOL not to like something when everyone is talking about it right….. so HATE on it so you’re not “Dick Riding” right? Wrong because the flip side to this is… all the hating brings more attention to the project. Why….. because this is the only current post with now over 70 comments and counting. Hating is now more popular than showing love which is why artists put out songs for their so called HATERS. So if you really don’t like this joint, then don’t PAY for the music and don’t PAY it any attention. Otherwise…. SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH YA HATING BAND WAGON!

  64. Rap Purist says:

Jay has been spitting for 20+ years and still got it! Hip Hop album number 1 in 23 countries, they have a different subject matter on every song! They only talked about flossing twice Niggas In Paris, Otis and it was back to back. Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim thru it? They could have done with out the Beyonce track. Jay 42 and sound better than all of this pop, techno rap that you 22 and under little fucks accept! In my day the flyest bitches was playing Jay, Nas, Wu and listening to lyrics and yall just fucked it all up! I am just glad the nigga still wants to rap after 450 million because I know I would have been DONE before all you niggas criticize every little fucking thing! Jay sat the Grammy’s out because they wouldnt air the rap segment so he said fuck you and didnt show up! How many of these new generation fucks would do that? NONE. Did he fuck some people over to get where he is? Yes, but that aint what we are talking about! Musically the man is a fucking geniuis and you won’t understand until he is dead and years later you will act like you loved him the whole time!

  65. Dujay says:

Watch the throne SHOULD HAVE been the most important album in hip-hop history, but it wasnt quite that good. still a classic tho but not on the level it couldve been

  69. Michelle says:

I was hoping they were going to actually be interviewed. That sucks. I guess that ‘s what happens when you’re dealing the Throne.

  70. RN (Real Nigga) says:

I’m just wondering how YN can write, blog and tweet with a cock in his mouth.

Watch The Throne is a dope album. Even if it sucked YN would still say it was a dope album because he’s looking for a father figure in Jay-Z. Not one to replace his own but more like a Daddy… you know the kind that gives you a bath and rubs you down. You see, YN has homosexual tendencies… you ever see how he walks? Seriously. I see this dude all the time walking around the city… a little gay-ish if you ask me. So when you guys criticize him for riding Jay-Z’s dick you’re not being fair. He’s got a man crush on him and it won’t go away. Sure, he’s married. But his wife is known date fags in the past… ( *cough* O’Neal )… They have this big power couple thing they’re trying to make happen. So it doesn’t matter that he like dick as much as she does. I would be surprised if they dressed up like Beyonce and Jay-Z when they’re in the confines of their home. The only difference is YN isn’t wearing Rocawear boxers… he’s wearing a pink thong.
