Just Blaze “Lord Knows” Choir Session

[vodpod id=Video.15660398&w=540&h=350&fv=]

The bad news: Overnight, Drake’s sophomore album Take Care sprung a leak. The good news? One of the records sprouted was “Lord Knows” produced by Just Blaze. Simply put, the track is amazing. The song sounds like its anchored by a soul sample, but its not. Here’s brief footage of Just getting his Quincy Jones on with a live choir. Death to the jiggy rap! Take Care November 15th.

Just Blaze has blessed us for almost a decade of head-bopping beats damm this one goes hard!!! Too bad Drake and Ross aint match up to the intensity of the beat but it’s still my fav track from Take Care.

  12. rob says:

Hot track. Hope he has a lot of joints on GFID for ross to grunt on

  13. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

@Bx Slime. 100% right. The beat isn’t worth being on a drake album. Im surprised no has followed Jay-Z’s blueprint. Put just blaze on 50 % of your album. Like FREEWAY’s first album very underrated album.

Jersey stand up! WE does this! and please don’t shit on FL Studio because the ideas is still needed. nothing is EVER easy baked oven made. don’t care what program was used to bring out whats in Justin’s brain. its like saying typing is better than hand written. who gives a shit as long as its documented!

(after proof reading… didn’t mean to rhyme but thats what it is.)

  25. Life After Death says:

    Song of the year!

    Take Care!!

  26. Mook says:

esco and your a FEM stan…
    fall back

  27. Bx Slime says:

@ZoomZoom: Hell yeah my nigga, Saigon’s album was 90% produced by Just Blaze and look how that album turned out

  28. ESCO says:

    @Mook.

What’s a Fem? I don’t even know who you’re talking about, so good job on confusing me, how can I ever fight back.

As for the beat itself, it’s great. Just is one of the last real producers left. It’s like finding a proper video days when everything is made on the green screen, somewhat similar to how producers use the most simplistic of ways to make beats.

The irony here is that he’s given this beat to an artist who although is probably the best of his kind, well….he’s still nonetheless an artist who’s style is over saturated the hip hop market.

Either way, I liked the “Why you hate the game” better than this. And the song was twice as good with Nas and Games verses not only being quality, but having a lot of meaning to it.

  30. ImSoHis says:

Incredible. Just finished listening to this track & I envisioned a choir. I think Drake need 2 do a live performance of this with a choir in the back. SICK!

  31. Frontrunner says:

BDot I like that you aren’t afraid to state your opinion, you and YN……after a two year run its still Advantage Young Money….

  32. Black Shady says:

    Just…..one of the GOATS!!! trust!

  33. Damn says:

to see folks who dont produce or make beats comment on software to make beats is ill. why cant u just be a fan or someone who just doesnt like the artist. just blaze was once a heavy user of fl studio true message niggas

  34. JHP says:

Oh STFU you overanalytical rap nerds, can’t you just let a great song be great for once? Drizzy snapped on that shit, and Rozay was pretty good on it too, and Just Blaze produced the hell out of the beat. And by the way, Take Care > Watch The Throne, and this is coming from a huge Kanye fan!

  35. ----- says:

So I guess I’m completely outnumbered here, but I just can’t sit through the song. It just comes of as the epitome of an album filler. The album needed a banger to satisfy the hip hop heads, so call up Just Blaze and Rick Ross and let’s make a song that you’ve heard before. It kinda sticks out on the album because it takes no risks whatsoever and offers nothing new, just follows an old and obvious formula. Gotta respect Just Blaze on the beat because he obviously WAS inspired, but this style is really not what I listen to Drake for, and he sounded completely bored with it too. It’s actually better during Rick Ross’s part, because that kind of rap is what HE does.

Alright. That’s it. Don’t even know why I felt like saying that, I guess it just looked like it was pretty much unanimous in the other direction and I was a little bit surprised. And I don’t hate Take Care or Drake either, its actually pretty dope overall.

Over My Dead Body – Marvin’s Room/Buried Alive – We’ll Be Fine – Cameras – Doing It Wrong – Andre’s verse on The Real Her – HYFR – Look What You’ve Done (probably the best track)

And I still have no idea what to make of Practice. I think it’s fuckin hilarious, although I don’t know if that’s what he was going for. It’s not bad tho.

  36. youngyela says:

I seriously believe Just Blaze is the best producer EVER.

  39. ChuckBallz says:

Yo, “Lord Knows” dope tune and all that, Take Care is on another level, now i know this ain’t on topic, but can y’all people ID the beat at 0:10 for me in this vid?

Or is that some unreleased non-mainstream shit? I can’t find that trumpet beat ID anywhere… Thanks in advance, y’all. One.

  40. actsoffackery says:

but why the choir dude look like Detective Doakes from Dexter

  41. musikal says:

Mook is right dont tell people when albums leak it can hurt peoples album sales. take care bitches drizzy makin a killin.

  42. Freddy Long says:

this track is cold. just heard it on youtube. but @youngyela you’re silly if you believe Just Blaze is GOAT as producers are concerned. I’m a Just Blaze groupie but definitely not Top 10 Producers of all time. Maybe Top 10 HIP-HOP producers but not producers. Use the distinction because you spit in Babyface, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, David Foster, Norman Whitfield, Quincy Jones, Teddy Riley, etc faces.

  43. Flyguymo says:

this was definitely my favorite beat on the CD and it wasn’t even hard to make statement as soon as i heard it
