i second that comment. The Beastie Boys have definitely done big things for Hip Hop and music in general, but there is no way they should have gotten in on their first nomination after LL was denied multiple times.
im surprised they werent in earlier. the rock stations are always playing beastie boys but they never play any other hip hop music. i hop its not cause theyre white even tho i know thats the reason.
It probably has more to do with their roots as a punk band. Kinda like how the same stations will play Walk This Way but not My Adidas, because one is more related to the genre than the other.
Damn they still won’t let LL in? They need to hurry up and get him in there. One of the best to ever do it.
