Diddy’s Film Wins Academy Award
And the winner is? Diddy. During last night’s 84th annual Academy Awards, the film Undefeated, won an Oscar for Best Documentary. Diddy serves as the movie’s executive producer. He gave a statement regarding the win here. Congrats!
UPDATE: Diddy sends his victory speech to Life Files
Hello World,
Waking up the day after such an incredible experience is humbling.
I have had so many dreams, some came true others are still being worked on. That said, being apart of a film that shows the drive and determination of kids who seemingly have no hope, no future, and nothing but obstacles, has taught me that there is a universal spirit of faith and character in all of us that binds us. Their story is my story, is our story, is your story at some real level, we can relate. Once the flame is ignited in us, nothing can stop us. I hope to be that spark that makes everyone believe anything is possible. God bless you all and I thank you for sharing in this honor with me.
Sean Combs.
Dope! Diddy is undefeated.

Congrats to Career Killer !
honestly, Undefeated is the best sports documentary you will ever watch in your life…. no quetsions asked.
I think jay has one too. But Em and Diddy are the only awards that matter for hip hop IMO
more like someone else did it and he just put his name on it like with most things he does
I dont even know how they let Three Six Mafia win an Oscar. The devil they pray to prolly helped ’em out abit.
@Ridalen yea Jay won 1 for “Run This Town” I think… I swore rapradar posted avoid of Irvin JAY’S roc nation office!
@Jaymalls Hov won an Emmy not an Oscar my dude.
He didn’t tho he got involved after they’d already been nominated
I can hear Diddy telling all of us
” Take that, Take that.”
Executive producer ain’t shit, it just a way for the studio to give an A-lister some credit when they don’t deserve it. The producer is the one that puts in the work…
Hey RapRadar, you’ve been told this before: Diddy wasn’t even nominated for the Oscar, so he doesn’t have one now.
It’s not like the Emmys where you can contribute a little money to a project and qualify to get a statue. When a documentary wins the Oscar, only the director(s) and 1 or 2 PRODUCERS can get the statue. Diddy was an EP, and he wasn’t involved in the making of the doc, so only the two directors and the senior producer (Rich Middlemas) won the Oscar.
Super interesting to see how this misinformation spreads like wildfire only on hip-hop blogs. You can see the nominees on the Oscar site here: http://bit.ly/ylt1Wf
Lol… No.
CONGRATS POPPA DIDDY POP
Regardless of what we may think about Diddy, his grind is undeniable. He does not let anyone stop him from accomplishing his goals. Maybe we can take a page out of his book and have the confidence to feel unstoppable. I may not agree with all he does but he is going for success nonstop, all day, everyday!!
but where’s his oscar tho?
You don’t see an oscar in his hand right? He saved the film with his money. Because it was all going to go under.
Diddy Stay Winnin
I give props to Harvey Weinstein for asking Diddy to be a part of the film as an executive producer. All he does is win Oscar’s (7 in total this year). Just to add, the title of this post is just fucking misleading. He wasn’t nominated as one of the producers of the film by the Academy. Why? Because they came out before Diddy hopped on the project. His executive producer credit is just so he could plug the film wherever he goes.
“diddy buys an oscar”
Sean Combs is clearly just an insufferable human, but he’s still more admirable in this case than the producers and director of “Undefeated,” NONE of whom acknowledged the actual subjects of the film during their acceptance speech. I threw stuff at them on my TV last night when I waited and waited for a “Thank you to the Manassas football team” and did not hear it. Ridiculous.
What did u espect, that’s the american way for ya..
