Jay Electronica Says Album’s Done

It might be hard to believe, but earlier today Jay Elect turned to this Twitter account to reveal that his debut album is complete. In fact, some of his peers have already heard the project. Can we get next?

Sometimes im Jay Electronica. sometimes im Jay Electronigga. i wanna let yall hear this one record from Act II: Patents Of Nobility (the turn) called “Road To Perdition” feat. Mr. Carter so bad.

Album soon come. Ask Bun B, he heard the album in its entirety. a thouand kisses to all of those who have supported me since Act I: Eternal Sunshine (the pledge). I am grateful for your patience. I will not let any of you down. I promise. I will not let any of you down. I promise.

Jay Z, Bun B, Jeymes Samuel, Tony Tagoe, Erykah Badu. These are the only ppl that have heard the album in its entirety. Watch The Throne, Cold World: The Sideline Story and Act II: Patents Of Nobility (the turn) will set the bar at an all time high.

UPDATE: Seven months later. Same song.

Dear Believers and Patient Supporters. Thank you for your patience and support. The Album will be turned in Tomorrow evening. The wait ends.over the next day or so, i will write and open letter via my tumblr (http://EyeOfElectronica.com) to those who have waited patiently on me. ℒℴѵℯ

  24. Hip-Hop Fiend says:

    Cole World will easily be the best album of 2011. Thats cool Act ll is done but I’m sure it will have a few more push backs I mean Jay-Z is behind the project. What kind of first single will Jay Elect have? Is Hov gonna make him do a pop record like J. Cole? I can give a shit when Watch The Throne come out it’s gonna disapoint.

  30. Best news of the week. Hands down.

  31. Desman says:

    Nice! I’m expecting BIG things with Jay he’s like a modern day KRS 1 but personally I think better

  32. Glasses Malone says:

    I hope this is as thought provoking as Section.80.

  33. Horus The Illuminati Sock Puppet says:

    @Glasses Malone

    No diss at all to Kendrick, but I’m sure Act II will be even more inspiring. Jay Elect is just on a different level altogether from pretty much everybody else in the game- Act I was more like incredible beat poetry than modern rap; and the production vision alone was genius. And the lyrics? I’ve listened to it a thousand times, its one of my favorite pieces of audio ever (the full 15 minute version), but I still get something new out of it every time. I honestly think he comes at his work at a completely different angle than most of these guys; its more like he tried to create audible art instead of a hip hop song.

  34. M.T says:

    Thats 3 albums im looking foward to hearing.

  35. bx slime says:

    *throws up the roc* This is great news, but when is the release date? The 3 Js are gonna drop classics.

  36. Word says:

    Roc Nation >>>> Your favorite team this year.

    Sales wise, I dont expect Roc Nation to lead the pack. I’ll leave the numbers game to the Shady and YM team. But Roc Nation and GOOD are dropping the type shit you’ll throw in 10 years from now and reminisce about where you were when you first heard it.

  37. loch121 says:

    Jay Elec tbout to change the game.it will be classic

  38. AJ says:

    Shady> No Limit Forever> Roc Nation> Young Money> G.O.O.D Music> Grand Hustle> Maybach Music Group> Corprate Thugz

  39. Jaymalls says:

    @AJ
    ^^^^^^^^^^ What is that list based on???

  40. Jinx says:

    Roc Nation > G.O.O.D Music > Maybach Music Group > Young Money

  41. AJ says:

    Strongest team top to bottom Shady strongest out. Base on lyrics, songs, and focus

  42. Choppa says:

    Wow congrats to ya bumass!

  43. Jaymalls says:

    @AJ
    Am i understanding you correctly?? Your saying No Limit has a stronger team than those other record labels?? THey havent had a HIT in almost a decade. When was the last time an artist from their camp come out with an album?? ILL WAIT!!
    2ND: When was the last time an artist, not name Eminem, came out the shady umbrella and dropped a solid album… materfact dropped an album period… Obie Trice???They should just call that record label Marshal Mathers and leave it @ that. THeir team is nowhere near stronger than G.O.O.D Music OR Young Money. Their only revenue stream is from Eminem. Thats not my definition of a team..

  44. So Much Criticism says:

    People are actually happy this garbage is coming out? Really? Jay Electronica has the worst lyrics and rythem. He’s right up there with Soulja Boy and Rick Ross.

  45. AJ says:

    @Jaymalls… I put no limit to throw you off cuz I heard Romeo tryin to revive that label. Anyways as far as Shady I think they are strongest team you act like 50 didn’t do crazy numbers. Young Money is overrated, Drake is a good artist but I think he can’t be the artist he trully wants to be, Nicki is a star. Wayne needs to push Tyga’s music like drizzy and niki cuz he underrated. Roc Nation will be strongest team soon as they drop the albums. G.O.O.D Music is solid. FUCK MAYBACH MUSIC. So it goes Shady, Roc Nation, G.O.O.D Music, and Young Money. Drake should of sign with Roc Nation.

  46. Dream On says:

    Shout out to @Word for speaking the truth!!!

  47. Hip-Hop Fiend says:

    Co sign @Word. G.O.O.D Music and Roc Nation droping some shit. The only thing I’m disapointed in is “Work Out” I don’t think I’ll ever get over that but I gotta live with it. Still think in a day and age with internet I think Cole should of said fuck the radio. Jay Elect will just drop the music he wants both droping classic shit. G.O.O.D Music is focus. Kanye- no explination, Big Sean-drop one of most impressive albums I heard in along time, Cudi-Start rapping again you too good of a genius to waste on emo experiment shit, Pusha T- This nigga focus, ill mixtape, waiting on solo album. Listen to Pusha T on MBDTF he spit two verses with legendary flow. He had the verse of the year to me on “So Appalled

  48. m85 says:

    RocNation has the strongest core of MCs out of any crew, if you look btwn JayZ,JCole,JElect there is no ground that isn’t covered topicwise..not to mention they’re all lyrical monsters true MCs..GOOD Music would either b tied or a close 2nd..they may have they best range of artistry in my opinion tho..MC wise Kanye,Common,MosDef is a 3 headed monster too..and dependin on what u like they also got cyhi pusha and (even tho I’m not a fan of his) big sean..Both these crews are makin music that pple are gonna be bumpn years from now..they’re lightyears better than YM or Shady..Shady would hafta b the weakest..Slaughterhouse is cool for punchlines n metaphors but they don’t rap bout anything..Em is the only artist that can move any units or even seem to drop an album..YM is popular (not a fan of any of them) wit Wayne Drake Nicki..I don’t see their music standin the test of time tho

  49. Matt Maestro says:

    I love this dude. He understands what hip hop is all about.

  50. Jinx says:

  56. oh really says:

    It will be another 7 months. HE promised Act 2 back in 2007 & then he promised it in December 2009. He signed to Roc Nation in 2010 & promised the album in 2011 & 7 months ago announced the completion of the album. Here he is today with another announcement.

  57. loch121 says:

    Elect still bout to drop a classic LOL.I’m ready whenever this drops.I would love him Cole and Jay to do an album.I don’t know what to expect from Electronica, but I know it’s going to be a game changer.

    COLE WORLD Pt 2 coming soon…

  60. TOPFLIGHT says:

    In the late 80’s early 90’s it was some what of a Norm 4 Artist to take 2-3 yrs between projects to give on growth for reflection.Now with the saturated garbage market Art is Rushed.However Its better to Pace ur self not Race ur self.Music is Timeless…Patience is a Virtue.

    @DACHILDOFHIPHOP

  61. ClarkR says:

    Comes out the same day as Detox…

  62. The Guy says:

    Finally this nigga so lazy no doubt he was homeless

  63. TruthBeTold says:

    the thing about Jay electronica is, he doesnt really invlove his fans and doesnt go on as many tours as cole. also he doesnt really put himself out there as much…..if he does all that, hed be BIG.

  64. loch121 says:

    @truthbetold He has done that.That’s how he got his buzz.he moved around and became known in several hip hop scenes.He’s done fairly big shows as far as clubs.His industry and street buzz is good.I think Jay is taking the old 90’s approach of not leaking songs and being mysterious.BIG wanted to shoot Clue for leaking album songs.

  65. RedRocBoy says:

    Finally Been waiting too long. Coping 3 Support the man Jay Elect. REAL HIP-HOP. ROC BOYZ IN THE BUILDING!!!
