We get up close with E-V-E on the front cover of her fourth studio album, Lip Lock. Although it’s her first project in 11 years, here’s what she says with Billboard:
“I don’t want people to take [Lip Lock] too seriously. I’m not trying to relive any moments of my life. I’m in a new place in my life. I’m almost a new artist. It’s a fun record. I just hope that some of my fans, especially the ones that grew up with me, will just take [‘Lip Lock’] how it is and have an open mind, head and heart. Hopefully [fans] will say, ‘Let me listen to where she is now.’ You will recognize me from Ruff Ryders [and] lyrically I’m still that girl.”

Translation: I am conforming to what labels want me to do, so this album will be a pitbull/david guetta sonically influenced record.

^ she’s indie with major distribution. She has the same deal Havoc Prodigy Jesse Heavyweight MReck Tex James Rex has with Sony RED. With this tracklist i dont know who shes catering too..
Its so sad that female rappers dont do features on other female rappers songs/albums. Nicki wont be on a song with Kim, Iggy wont be on a song with Banks, Foxy wont be on a song with Eve, Angel wont be on a song with Nitty Scott, so on and so on. It would be dope to see a female posse cut in 2013 like an ASAP Rocky “1 Train”. Oh well maybe in another 10 years.
