he somewhat sounds like Diggy Simmons, but the song has a J. Cole vibe to it.

not saying it’s bad, but it just reminds me of something J. Cole would do.

      i agree

  2. Donn says:

I think dude is lyrical but I don’t FEEL it. That’s the problem with some dudes who like rap culture for no reason other than thinking it’s cool, for some of raps prominent acts HipHop was their only way of expressing themselves. PAC had this pain in voice, 50, Em, Cole, Nas. Like their voices and delivery was just so deep that u could feel the bars.

Logic is just rapping. Regardless how deep he tries to be or lyrical, the pain and the IT just isn’t there. I heard him but I can’t feel that shit

Good point, never looked at it like this … I like Logic but you made a valid point! But I try not to be real critical now days I just appreciate him actually making good music with some lyrical content!… Word.

    2. M.A.T. says:

I think Logic is technically sound. I don’t think anyone can deny that. Like when I hear him, the first thing that stands out to me is his flow and that alone makes him a lot better than most new artists. But to me that isn’t saying much about today’s music. So it’s like what Donn said, his stuff just doesn’t move me. And I’ve tried to get into his music too, but I think his biggest problem is that he’s not really saying anything that I haven’t heard before.

He’s just another rapper giving me the same stereotypical story line that everyone uses and we get it. You’re a rapper and you’re trying to make it. The problem I have with that story is what do you rap about when you make it? How you’ve now quote on quote made it? To me that’s just very one dimensional and the people who do it are just setting themselves up to making music with no substance. He’s already covered this topic before on multiple mixtapes.

Who knows though. Maybe his album will be really good and prove me wrong. I have no problem with that happening, because I honestly don’t have anything against him personally.

I’ve heard his whole discography. His issue doesn’t stem from being unskilled they come from him being generally boring. His story reminds me a little bit of eminem’s, minus all the hardship, fucked up mom, wife-beating, drugs, being white in a black area growing up. Things that people DIDN’T have a lot of insight into. This guy is basically the stripped down version of B Rabbit with only the burning desire to fulfil his dream. Which is great, but not uniquely differently. Without a record I would almost be sure he is pushing for his desires so talking about it on a track doesn’t really make me anymore excited about that reality – I know it’s there. SURPRISE ME with something I haven’t seen. That’s all I’m saying. He’s good, very good. But for me, that’s all he is.

    3. Andrew says:

try some of his other stuff

    4. hilroycahier says:

Exactly. A very talented individual. Reminds me of someone who mastered an instrument because it was for school or their parents or even because it was hobby-esque, something you could apply your time too and inevitably get a little better.

With logic as with a lot of other rappers I would agree that the feeling in a lot of raps is starting to diminish. It’s not about creating SOMETHING that is AMAZING… it’s now about creating a PRODUCT that needs to be in line with the MAINSTREAM and holds a greater priority to more frequent release dates to satisfy quantity rather than quality. I think the rap game has sort of been switched too “lets see how much shit we can throw at the wall and see how much stays”. The result is not much shit stays but some does cling.

We need to stop slinging shit. We need to neatly place motherfuckers on there one by one like we used to.

    5. Omar Jacobs says:

The Logic and Kendrick track will have all y’all changing your minds hell the numbers logic will out up from a loyal fan base will have all y’all shocked

    He don’t need you

    1. M.A.T. says:

Numbers shouldn’t affect your opinion about the music though. You either like it or you don’t. You’re just arguing about whether or not he’s going to be successful and no one said he wouldn’t be. haha

Not everyone is going to like the same stuff. That’s just life man.
