In the context of the awards show Troy Ave came on straight after Common, Jay Electronica and Vince Staples performed some super conscious shit and brought Mike Brown’s parents out, on top of that all the people in his cypher were basically taking shots at his stereotypical persona and they all rapped rings around dude. big L for Troy, he might have had a chance if they put him in the Taylor gang cypher.
