    Dope

  3. Marko V says:

Shout out to Joey and his Pro Era crew. I pray God gives them strength during yet another gone too soon moment. Gotta wonder why their publicizing the cover and tracklisting now tho because they’ve had this for a minute. They crew member dies, they cancel the Europe dates and now they release this? Business as usual or capitalizing off the recent press? Idk Hip Hop is becoming more fucked up everyday.

    1. Greenbergs says:

I had to look up what the fuck u were talking bout..these dudes are dropping like flies it seems..

    2. marty mcfly says:

You implied that Joey used the death of his friend as a press moment? Comeonson, his album cover and tracklist would’ve been posted and covered by the outlets associated with Hip Hop regardless.

      1. Marko V says:

Then why release the cover and tracklisting now? Why not do it like others when it’s closer to the release date? In my mind the record labels these days take advantage of any and every opportunity to bring awareness to the products they push and this jus looks sketchy to me. True they’ll get pub regardless however it’s more impactful now that people who aren’t even in to the music are aware of their existence due to the coverage of the death of their crew member.

        1. marty mcfly says:

No man No. If Joey or his label want to release some information about the album they know how to do that and they do not need use the death of someone as an advantage opportunity with the press. These labels have been in business long enough to know how to post information about an album and Joey already had people’s attention before the death of his friend and he also doesn’t need to use his death, Joey already knew how to raise awareness to his music and he was already the most popular one out the group anyway. You know how easy it is for Joey and a label to raise awareness these days? A simple tweet would’ve garnered the same reaction about Joey’s album cover and tracklist.

          1. Marko V says:

I hear everything and those are all facts however explain to me why they release the cover and tracklisting now? On a Sunday (well known slow news day in all forms of media) and almost a month before the album drops. Cmon man even u have to admit this just looks a little fishy wen u think about it. As a fan since day one I can honestly say I’ve been waiting on the album for a while and as a fan I think the label, not Joey, are trying to take advantage of the extra publicity by bringing awareness to his album. Just look at it from a label’s perspective.

          2. marty mcfly says:

You’ve been waiting on the album a while but yet you cant see why neither Joey or the label has to use a death as an advantage to release a cover and a tracklist that you was already waiting for anyway? People were already aware of Joey and his album before the death of his friend. This ship was already sailing… and from the labels perspective, no they don’t have to use the death of his friend to raise awareness because they’ve been raising awareness for years already. They was already gonna raise awareness about this project anyway and in the age of information raising awareness as one of the most simplest things you can do, especially for a bunch of label heads with access to millions of dollars and millions of people already checking for releases before any tragedy to begin with. To raise awareness the label can simply tweet and there you go.

          3. Marko V says:

Because in this day and age you need momentum to gain access to the most sales possible and yes sad as it may be, death or anything else happening for an artist besides music, gives you momentum. It’s the reason Cash Money isn’t dropping Carter5 (no momentum). That’s why I said Hip Hop is in a sad place rt now because label execs will use anything to capitalize off of. So no disrespect to Joey or Pro Era or even Johnny Shipes for that matter, timing seems to be everything nowadays and you can’t blame me for questioning the timing of releasing the artwork and tracklisting a day after announcing the death of one of their members.

          4. marty mcfly says:

Its not about momentum either. No matter what nobodies album is gonna sell shit unless your Drake or Kendrick. In the last ten years sells have gotten worse every year so that is not gonna turn itself around. Its not rocket science to continue to make people aware of Joey Badass cause they’ve been doing that for years now and they have identified their target audience already. Its so easy to get awareness out that again, all the label has to do is tweet the cover and tracklist and a million different blogs and fans will run with the information and retweet it because again, people were already waiting for the shit before the death even happened. They do not have to use a bad situation to make people aware of what they already wanted anyway. As far as reaching new people? Those new people would only care about Joey Badass and his music and probably have now idea who Junior B is anyway. No diss

          5. Marko V says:

And one more thing, it’s not about reaching me or anyone else who’s been waiting on the album, it’s about finding a way to connect with the rest of the music fans who aren’t aware of Joey’s music. So yea taking the time to update the recent news of a death in their camp wit an album cover and tracklisting would most definitely catch the eyes of those who haven’t been waiting in such news.

        2. Greenbergs says:

bruh, i dont think anyone was even aware of the fact that another fucking member died…thats how irrelevant these niggas are, so that either goes against your point or with your point…

      2. Greenbergs says:

        NOT NECESSARILY FAMZO…

      3. Guillaume Pilon says:

        Nah

They release it to keep fans on their toes

        Joey dont play thoses games

    3. Jax says:

Actually Amazon posted it, not him.

      1. Marko V says:

How did Amazon get it? From the label. It’s not Joey making decisions about promotion. Look at it from a business perspective.

    4. The Rock says says:

They prob. dropped it just to give fans something to be excited about since he canceled the rest of his tour and know he’s going to be inactive for a little due to his family member dying, I highly doubt their using death as extra publicity

      1. Marko V says:

Now that makes sense to me. I honestly hope that’s the reason.

  4. Greenbergs says:

Lmfaooooooo he did his whole crew dirty, even he knows they too trash for a debut album feature..

    1. Dashing28 says:

Did you say the same thing when Ye did put anyone from Good Music on Yeezus? Or when J cole didn’t put anyone from Dreamville on Born Sinner or 2014 Forest Hills Drive?

So he didn’t shamelessly promote his own artists on HIS album…isn’t that a good thing?

      1. Greenbergs says:

No comparison at all..joeys a non mainstream artist, if anything he should show confidence in his team n put them on some of his debut albums tracks…

        1. Dashing28 says:

          Nah.

It’s his album. You’ve been brainwashed by record labels who use each album as a promotional tool for the next artist on the food chain. “Obie Trice. Real name, no gimmicks”

It makes no sense for an artist to make creative choices solely to market the next thing.

besides, he put a lot of them on the 1999 mixtape, Summer Knights, and gave them all shine on the Pro Era mixtape. Let the man make the album he wants to make and be judged on his own merit.

          1. Greenbergs says:

what attention did summer knights garner any of them? lol none of those dudes got shit going on for them but that fat fuck producer nerd nigga chuck inglish or wtvr the fuck…thats about all joey got, aside from that you shouldnt disrespect your crew and leave em outta your first album like they werent there for everything else…i.e capital steez death etc…if anything they gotta prove themselves as a brand, no one really fucks with joey badass except for the hipsters, he needs to broaden his horizons show faith in his crew trust his own style and create his own original sound.

          2. Dashing28 says:

This is why hip hop’s fucked up. Cause people think that because they’re homies on they automatically deserve shine. If you nice, prove yourself. Whether you like Joey or not, he’s the one popping right now, but if they got real talent they’ll use the exposure that they’ve gotten because of Joey and make something for themselves, just like Joey did himself.

            “Nothing’s given dog. It’s earned.”

          3. Greenbergs says:

first off hes not popping at all..maybe in the hippy hipster underworld yeah…but in the mainstream people are like joey who? and another thing if this was the case the underachievers and the flatbush zombies would be non existant…btw i hope u know joey badass went to a very talented highly educated high school called murrow ..similar to laguardia where nicki minaj went…he most likely didnt do jack shit himself and mommy and daddy called one of their friends up and got them to come to one of their sing events …

          4. Dashing28 says:

            Ha. You mad, huh?

Talent wins out in the end. You either got it or you don’t.

If the guys talented tell him to make a dope record and pop since Joey already put him in a position to be heard and discussed like we’re doing now. Everyone wants the world to go the work for them. That don’t happen in other genres. Taylor swift aint required to put on her friends.
Lebron ain’t get his high school buddies an NBA contract.

            Talent wins out.

          5. Greenbergs says:

btw one of the members lives in my neighborhood and is still living in his momma house…no rapper should live that way

          6. Dashing28 says:

That’s on him though. No man is responsible for another man’s success.

          7. Greenbergs says:

joey badass brought him in the group actually , so yeah he is…

          8. Greenbergs says:

thats like eminem leaving d12 off his shit..but this time the dudes a black guy and is attempting to sell out..

  5. hostage says:

Im still waiting on the Joey Badass, Lloyd Banks record.

    1. Greenbergs says:

banks would have to lend badass a verse…joey wouldnt be able to keep up.

  6. AthrazhuR says:

I was excited for Ghostface and Wu, ended up being impressed by Ghostface. Was excited for Badass and Cole, yeah I know, disparate artists, Cole was a snoozer, let’s hope this delivers.
