In less than a week, Hospin returned from retirement. Initially a joke, the rapper announced the completion of his next album and unveiled its artwork. Um, welcome back? Says him:
I’m extremely happy to announce that I have already completed my 2015 album “Pound Syndrome” for you guys! I didn’t wanna tell anyone I was working on it because I didn’t want ANY pressure at all. The Funk Volume team is about to come strong as fuck! Shout out to @threekingsdr for the artwork! #PoundSyndrome #FV2015
I was jus commending Hopsin for leaving rap because he felt he needed to move on and here he is dropping another album. These type of moves to gain attention really make me not want to support dude. I respected his money and now I could care less.

I’ll never understand this stupid trend of respecting artists based on their money instead of their art. Picasso died penniless as did many of the greatest artists of all time, but these days if you make one criticism of a song by someone like Drake a hundred diehard fans are gonna come talking about how he has more money than you. Artists should be judged on their art first and foremost.

On the real Too Short retired and came back. So did Master P and his so-called “final” album sold like hot cakes. And let’s not forget Jay Z who faded to black only to come back “like Jordan wearin the 4-5”. Simply put Hopsin not the first and won’t be the last to try this marketing scheme. I jus thought it wack.
The difference between all those listed and Hopsin is they had more popularity around themselves already and didn’t wait a week before coming out of retirement.

I got respect for this dude in regards to him building a label, signing Dizzy and Jarren who are both dope MCs. His work ethic is nice, producing and writing a whole album isn’t easy. I do have a problem with his corny punchlines (which he doesn’t always use). At the end of the day, dudes got a nice flow, and the means to be bigger than he already is. The stunts and kiddy shit have to stop tho. To a lot of you hating…He’s probably nicer than 30-40% of rappers this site talks about lol.
