Big-up to the CHRONIXX connection, two young giants, pushing their music in good directions, standing on the shoulders of their elders. Hope they both continue to grow and progress.

  2. im going to keep it so real i dont know why joey & the pro era crew do anything for that station hot does nothing for them they dont even give them one spin they play garbage all day long and only use them to freestyles for there websites & blogs wakeup & stop being used

    1. Chronic says:

Only time he’s ever on is late night with Rosenberg, and it’s mostly underground rap kinda fans that are gonna like joey so he goes on one of the only major underground rap shows, I’d say it’s a smart move on his part.

      1. my point is dont let nobody use you because if you notice they would tell joey he doesnt make good music he doesnt work hard enough but they would play migos all day long

        1. Chronic says:

Ok, and if he doesn’t go on radio stations and such how is he gonna promote his self and/or album to people who don’t already follow him?

          1. i dont think you understand what i wrote promoting your self is fine but what ive notice for years and even joey mentioned it they dont give any of them any airplay but there good enough to do freestyles and thats it

          2. Chronic says:

Ok but he’s still having people hear those freestyles or his interviews who maybe never listened to him before. Not everyone goes on rap blogs to find stuff. But I get you, if he’s good enough to do interviews and freestyles why aren’t they playing his music too.

          3. there not doing anything for them they dont promote him all the success that he has it came from him grindin my whole point is dont get used because at the end of the day there not your friends its a business

          4. Chronic says:

I get where you’re coming from. But you could also look at it as Joey doesn’t wanna make pop-sounding radio music and he’s using them just as much as they are him. Sure they get the money in the end from it, but he basically gets free advertising.

          5. i feel what your saying it all boils down to what does ether side get out of this for him its free promo and for the radio station it gives them more hits to there website

          6. Chronic says:

Yea, but I feel you. He shouldnt feel obligated to go on or anything like that. Most of his buzz was self-built off putting out quality music

          7. exactly that was my point he is not good enough to get any airplay or perform at there concerts but he is good enough for all the djs that work at hot 97 to post his freestyles on there websites to me theres something wrong about that

          8. Chronic says:

Yea he doesn’t get the respect he deserves, but he’s probably looking at it as its gonna be easier to get to that point by going on the air to get his name out there more. It’s hard in today’s music scene to make it to the mainstream without that radio hit…and even if you do, you’re yesterdays news in a couple weeks if you haven’t done something to get your name out there.

          9. thats all true but people know who joey is for a while now he has a fan base the problem with radio nowadays verses 20yrs ago radio right now is owned by corporations that have national play lists that play the same songs & artists in every state

          10. Chronic says:

Really heavy hip-hop fans who check out rap sites know him. But I’d almost guarantee that if you go ask random people on the streets most people won’t have heard of him, or at least if they have they can’t name a single song by him. That’s why he’s goin on, to get those people to hopefully get on board. And completely agree bout the radio, it’s the same like 10 songs on every station all day

          11. that could go for any genre of music if your just asking random people on less you have a really popular name even if they never heard there music they know there name but were talking hip hop not that stuff that gets played on top 40 radio im talking about real rap fans

  7. blackbeltbreeze says:

i had joey album preordered & was fearing the worst based on some of the singles. but it’s strong. features are crazy. each of them brings something unique to the overall vibe. real good beat selection. i can’t say that i find joey’s bars and verses that interesting for most of the songs. sometimes i don’t like the delivery. but i like that he is doing HIM. it’s authentic. it will be good to see the other proEra members start building because they are so diverse and talented. they could kind make a good run. but these young NY artists seem to stay in limbo.

i lo-key wanna see dave east do a remake of this whole B4DA$ album, and just take each beat and style on it. then see Joey do that with that east EP. get some of ASAP in that rotation. just to get the culture popping between the more talented young cats. NY was interesting in 90’s and 00’s cause it was multiple crews and movements who were really different from each other but were also in same universe. it’s cool to have spiderman and the hulk and iron man. but avengers is cooler. then the x-men/avengers collabs would be crazy, and the marvel/dc collabs would be even crazier.
