Murda Mook On Almost Battling Drake

Ready Or Not.

Murda Mook sat with MTV’s Rob Markman to discuss how his role in Dame Dash’s movie series Loisaidas came about.

At about the 8 minute mark, Mook dives into a story on how he and Drake almost battled during Grammy weekend and what he believes prevented it from happening.

As an artist if someone interviewed me with that being the focal point of the interview …. I would rethink a few things

    1. en says:

There was a whole 8 minutes worth of interviewing and probably fifty plus questions asked by the interviewer before the “focal point of the interview”… maybe you should rethink a few things

      1. TylerFree says:

Assuming is never the way to go buddy didn’t even watch the video.

        1. Mr.Stealyogurl says:

Yall clicked an article called “Murda Mook on bating Drake” the fact that the interview was that long proves my point even more

      2. Mr.Stealyogurl says:

My dude the title of this post says what?

  2. jussayin says:

  3. Hussle says:

This nigga been talking about this “battle” for monthssssss now. Get over it…its not happening

  4. TylerFree says:

This nigga need to get over it, Drake is not battling U my G. Thirsty Ass nigga.

    1. Kev says:

You’re confused. Drake challenged him and was gonna battle him.

      1. TylerFree says:

U got proof he challenged him or you just going by this murda dude.

        1. Kev says:

Few of the OVO guys are well known around Toronto. Word got around.

  5. KOTD says:

Drake a bitch. Who calls out the greatest battle rapper of all time and then doesnt battle. Drake is lame for that. Period.

    1. Da Business says:

      Stop it.

Millz gave Mook the Da Business, the 1st battle w/ Lux is debatable, and so is the Jones battle. Tho Mook is gr8, the best, nah. That n!99@ needs to stop ducking Clips and Hollow and get in the ring. To be the best, beat the best.

      FOH w/ this Drake talk…

      1. Kev says:

Real talk Drake would probably lose, but I don’t think he would embarrass himself. He’s clever, confident and he’s got the home court advantage.

      2. brza says:

        Word! Charlie Clips is cold

    2. radio raheem says:

Drake is one of my mentors when it comes to music but angry males Always seem to call Drake a bitch because he loves women… Makes no sense if you ask me….. I too love women… I think you should focus more on your Life instead of trying to bash successors who many people look up too… PEACE

      1. Brian Rostro says:

If he’s your mentor then you better reconsider your rapping career

        1. radio raheem says:

Because his is very unsuccessfull right ? LMFAOOO

  6. el jim chapo guzman says:

Letter to DRAKE…..Dear drake could you please battle this nigga and make him famous.

  7. B.Thot says:

Murda mook on almost being relevant for 15 minutes

  8. Kev says:

It’s true. Future legit stopped Drake last minute from battling Mook. If it was Drake’s call it would’ve happened. It’s been talked about too much at my barber shop. And yes I’m from Toronto.

    1. Dafuq says:

      why did Future do that?

      1. Kev says:

It’s easy to embarrass Drake cause his life is out there in the public. Think of Hollow vs. Joe Budden. Except, Drake is on top right now and has a lot of people managing and working behind the scenes for him and OVO. If his image was damaged then a lot of people will lose money. Why do you think Drake picks on rappers he can undoubtedly stunt on like Macklemore and Tyga, without ever going at someone with a lot more skill who’s challenged/dissed him like Kendrick, Pusha T, Jay Z, or the thousands of other rappers that have called him soft or corny. He picks his battles so he can still flex his muscle and status without risking his image.

        1. TylerFree says:

Drake did diss K.dot,Pusha T, Jayz what are you talking about. Don’t let the hate for Drake blind your thought process.

          1. Kev says:

            You call those disses?

          2. Brian Rostro says:

Diss? More like a bitch shove followed by a thrown pillow. My little brother can come up with better ones

    2. polopolo1 says:

What future got to do with this, he said the manager stopped him

      1. Kev says:

Future da Prince is his manager.. Not talking about Future the auto tune rapper/singer.

  9. blackbeltbreeze says:

It’s weird to see someone as cool as Mook presented under a headline this lame. He never wanted to be the “I almost battled Drake” guy. That’s like being the “I almost played LeBron one-on-one guy.” It doesn’t matter how hot you are in the street, if that becomes your title it makes you appear lame and thirsty. Maybe Drake lo-key played him by not battling him. Why else would Mook have been there? Maybe Drake’s team was concerned about the risk of exposing his brand to being portrayed in a weak manner. But I don’t know if Mook embarassing him would have affected Drake’s 14 or 21 singles in the top 50 and his selling 500K the first week because Drake’s core audience are more into his music, look, and what they feel is his sincerity than his rep as a battle rapper. And they are willing to pay full price for both his music and tickets to his concerts; that’s a different level of brand loyalty. I don’t see what Mook really gains by beating Drake because Mook’s core fans don’t respect Drake in the same way they respect top tier battle rappers Mook has yet to battle. It just seemed like a PR move that generated hype for both of them that they used brilliantly. Now hopefully they move on before this gets played out.

  10. R. Wellington ® says:

Battle rappers for the most part are trash. All they do is talk about guns & killin niggas.

  11. lostprodigy says:

You sounding like a Real Bitch right now Mook on your I almost battled Drake Promo Run he nice at what he does but….battle Math Hoffa for that alleged pistol whipping my dude.

  12. yorapper says:

Mentioning Drake is the only way he can get into the headlines, his music is trash.

  13. radio raheem says:

Drake doesn’t freestyle or battle rap he’s an artist… Not a rapper so all this talk makes no sense we all know Drake would lose… He’s not a battle rapper… It’s common sense… People just always choose to talk about irrelevant topics and waste time instead of focusing on the music

  14. PhilLee8 says:

Gottdamn, how long is this dude gon drag this shit out? Drake aint battlin you or any other battle rapper out, period.
