Is 50 Cent going for broke? Not exactly. Earlier today, it was revealed that Fif filed for Chapter 11 protection in Connecticut. It’s reported that he’s $10 million to $50 million in debt. The move comes days after he was ordered to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston, Rick Ross’ baby mama, for leaking her sex tape. Says Fif’s attorney William A. Brewer III:
“The filing allows Mr. Jackson to reorganize his financial affairs, as he addresses various professional liabilities and takes steps to position the future of his various business interests. Mr. Jackson’s business interests will continue unaffected in the ordinary course during the pendency of the chapter 11 case. This filing for personal bankruptcy protection permits Mr. Jackson to continue his involvement with various business interests and continue his work as an entertainer, while he pursues an orderly reorganization of his financial affairs.”

Its because if they ever owe money personally, they can file Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and the Judge or the person that sued them cant get paid, because my Corp or LLC is its own person and thats where the money is.

Ummm…. Wake up people. You may think this is a chess move but think again. Chapter 11 bankruptcy means it’s a restructuring to be overseen by a court appointed trustee. The bankruptcy does do away with lawsuits except for a few. “injury caused by a willful or malicious act” would still be a lawsuit that he can’t discharge. Like it or not 50’s on the hook for the $5 million. I speculate that he is trying to avoid the big one. The punitive damages. That ruling (which has yet to be delivered and probably won’t in light of his filing) is the one to send his ass to the poor house.
All in all, this was a mess that 50 should’ve never gotten into. Ego and money don’t mix. Not only is he opening himself up to perjury by filing a fake bankruptcy (if it can be proven), his credit is going to be in the toilet with all of his business interests. This is beyond dumb for him. And anybody that is saying this is a chess move probably couldn’t buy a loaf of bread on credit.

Ummm…. Wake up people. You may think this is a chess move but think again. Chapter 11 bankruptcy means it’s a restructuring to be overseen by a court appointed trustee. The bankruptcy does do away with lawsuits except for a few. “injury caused by a willful or malicious act” would still be a lawsuit that he can’t discharge. Like it or not 50’s on the hook for the $5 million. I speculate that he is trying to avoid the big one. The punitive damages. That ruling (which has yet to be delivered and probably won’t in light of his filing) is the one to send his ass to the poor house.
All in all, this was a mess that 50 should’ve never gotten into. Ego and money don’t mix. Not only is he opening himself up to perjury by filing a fake bankruptcy (if it can be proven), his credit is going to be in the toilet with all of his business interests.
