Kendrick Lamar “Alright” With National Symphony Orchestra

TDE x NSO

Kendrick rolled out his ‘Kunta’s Groove Session‘ last night in D.C. with a one night only performance with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. K.Dot performed a good chunk of his To Pimp A Butterfly as well as some of his most notable hits. Like Nas‘ show last year with Illmatic, this was an amazing show.

  6. Iamstillmusic says:

Kendrick Lamar is the best rapper of the new school by a far margin. No one is competing with Kendrick on an MC level whatsoever and that goes for your favorite rapper as well. Alright represents exactly what hip hop is supposed to be and what it stands for- the movement. Only rapper in the new school to have 3 classic projects back to back. Your favorite could never.

Cosign! Glad we still have artists like Kendrick who still believe in crafting a cohesive body of work without comprising their integrity! GKMC and TPaB are prime examples of that

    2. PREMERE says:

Stop that 5 he aint got no 3 classics…..

      1. Iamstillmusic says:

        Section 80, GKMC,TPAB

        1. PREMERE says:

The only potential classic is gkmc, thats about it.

          1. Iamstillmusic says:

Nahh Section 80 was a classic in its own right, some even consider it far better than GKMC. TPAB will also be labeled a classic in very short time, it will the illmatic of our generation

          2. PREMERE says:

I have all 3 albums, to me i like Gkmc over section 8.0, tjats not to say it wasnt a dope album. Tpab it will be a while before that album hits classic status. They all have to stand the test of time before being deemed classics. But thats just my view on it.

          3. GetReal says:

section 80 was better than GKMC

          4. PREMERE says:

I have both and to me gkmc was better, and that album will def be a classic. Did you listen to the track on games album its called on me, k.dot went in on that track.

    3. Hussle says:

easily 3 classics. I would even go further (although I know people dont wanna hear it) but TPAB is the best project kdot ever made. And GKMC is a classic also. Just to tell you how high this kid put the bar #legend

Alright is the song of the year. To have people yelling this at protests against police brutality is truly a powerful thing. No one is close to him, besides Cole, with using the power of music to influence change.

Not quite sure how I feel about the almost apologetic intro to KING KUNTA he don’t have to explain shit away. Talking about sorry this songs so angry nice White Folk that invited me to this Opera house I was in a dark place mentally!!???

Man fuck that live in that truth allow it to breath life into someone who’s in that space currently. Allow it to hang on the mental walls of those that tell folk to get over injustices to just forget it. No brother it is what it is….King KUNTA!

Sadly, Kendrick Lamar, Tupac Shakur, Shawn Jay Z Carter and untold numbers of American children of African descent were/are victims of America’s expanding and shameful *National Epidemic of Child Abuse and Neglect,* aka *Poverty*, that for decades has deprived untold numbers of emotionally abused and neglected young developing children from experiencing and enjoying a fairly happy American kid childhood with Safe Streets to travel and play on.

Child Abuse and Neglect that often causes depressed children to mature into depressed, angry, frustrated, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal (NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers) teens and adults lacking empathy and compassion for our/their peaceful neighbors.

Quoting the NYT article, *”The suicide rate among black children has nearly doubled since the early 1990s, surpassing the rate for white children, a new study has found.”*

Who is responsible for emotionally and or physically traumatizing, abusing, neglecting, maltreating developing young children to the point where depressed kids believe their lives are not worth living?
