Big Boi & Friends Reflect On ‘Stankonia’

Stank You.

Today, Outkast’s fourth consecutive classic Stankonia, turns 15 years old. Man, where does the time go? It seems like only yesterday Bamboo was in the womb and Jordan was still a baby girl.

Anyway, the good folks at 1515 Broadway rounded up Big Boi and other Southern luminaries to reflect on the group’s 4 million seller. They also exhumed some never-before-seen footage of the duo speaking on the creation of the album.

  2. Sonic says:

My dad bought this album when it came out because of “Ms. Jackson”. I stole it from him and listened to it endlessly. Fueled from the old school but poised for the future.

I looooooooovveee Outkast and am a biiig fan. This is definitely not my fav outkast album, but still good though (Atliens is my fav). Good to see they are getting props because they are still one of my fav groups of all time (A tribe called quest is the other)

    1. jeweliano says:

I agree with you but I’m going to run with Their debut album…..that title too long to type lol

  6. ilexx says:

Stankonia was really on a whole other level. I don’t think I could’ve realized how ground breaking it was when it came out, even though I knew it was great music. 15 years later and its still timeless music.

Watching this I realized Outkast needs a sick documentary or something.

Oh and Big Boi is really one of the most underrated rappers ever.

  7. Que Don says:

Can’t name everyone, list would be to long. But it’s funny because I’m listing to Coming Out Hard as we speak. I also missed Pete Rock and CL Smooth and EPMD…. Who knows who else I missed.

      2. THE ALMIGHTY MIKEY ESCO!!! says:
