Shawty Lo Killed In Car Crash

Not LO

Carlos “Shawty Lo” Walker was killed this morning following a car crash on I-285 in his Atlanta hometown. He was 40 years old. According to WSBTV, he was ejected from the vehicle after hitting a guardrail and trees at the Cascade Road exit. Two passengers were also hurt with non-fatal injuries.

As the frontman for the group D4L, Lo scored a Billboard number one in 2005 with, “Laffy Taffy”. After the quartet disbanded, he found moderate success as a solo act thanks to songs like, “Dey Know”, “Dunn Dunn”, and “Foolish”. In 2011, he signed with 50 Cent’s G-Unit imprint.

Leaving behind 11 children, Lo buried his father, Carl Walker, four days ago. Condolences to his friends and family.

  5. en says:

How ya’ll goin to talk about he found “moderate success” when the man just died. That’s how ya’ll “report”? That’s how ya’ll pay respect? Saying he found moderate sucess?? Whats the purpose of that? Sounds disrespectful . The mans dead. Why not keep it 100, pay respect and put it like After the quartet disbanded.. “he found success as a solo artist with songs like…” or something. You know how many up and coming artists would kill to have the “moderate success” he had as a solo artist. Cmon. Please Rap Radar.

      *pull up a chair*

In D4L, he had a number one hit. As a solo artist, he never achieved the same success. I’m showing the dichotomy of his career.

Atlanta legend. Legit hard worker who turned his trade legal and made money and provided for his peoples. Moderate success? As long as jeezy and Wayne’s verses on “they know” still go hard in the club after all the liquor been passed around. He’ll forever be a rap staple in the clubs.
