JAY-Z’s ‘The Blueprint’ to be Archived in the Library of Congress

Jay’s like no other.

Today, the National Recording Registry has announced that JAY-Z’s 2001 album, The Blueprint, will be archived in the Library of Congress.

The critically acclaimed album will be joined by others including
Curtis Mayfield’s Superfly, Nina Simone’s “Mississippi Goddam,” and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September.”

The sixth studio album from JAY was released on September 11, 2001. Since then, the LP has been crowned as one of the best efforts from the rapper’s catalog. With Kanye West and Just Blaze handling the bulk of the production, the classic work has spawned hits including “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)”, “Song Cry” and more.

Other Hip Hop artists who have also received the prestigious honor include Straight Out of Compton by N.W.A, Run-D.M.C. for Raising Hell and De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising.

Nas track Either was off emotion Hov’s track Takeover was off facts but at the time people didn’t care about facts cause Nas came in shouting and shit name calling and doing all that childish shit so people claimed he won plus the media took Nas side but if you listen to Hov’s last diss on Nas “Blueprint 2” off his Blueprint 2 A Gift & A Curse album then you’d see Hov won off that track alone which lyrically and factually was better than Either.
