Rapper 5th Ward Webbie, a pioneer who popularized bounce music in New Orleans has died. He was 42.

The Bounce King passed away on Thursday, January 9 after being hospitalized after complications of a recent heart surgery.

A cultural icon in New Orleans, Webbie is most known for hits such as “Let Me Find Out” and “Get Out the Way”, and “Fuck Katrina”. Over the course of his career, he’s lent a helping hand to the likes of Master P, Mystikal, Kane & Abel, and most recently, Drake’s “Nice For What”. R.I.P.
