Album: The Cool Kids ‘Before Shit Got Weird’
The Cool Kids are back.
Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish reunite as The Cool Kids for the first of three part episode of album, Before Shit Got Weird.
Episode 1 provides 21 tracks including their “Dapper Dan Leather” banger, the sizzling “Hibachi“, and “All Or Nothing” featuring Larry June. Other guests include Chance The Rapper, JID, 6LACK, Pac Div, Don Cannon, Guapdad 4000, A-Track, Key!, Nikki Sweets, and more.
The album is a follow up to their 2011 studio debut, When Fish Ride Bicycles. Since then, they duo released their Special Edition Grandmaster Deluxe in 2017 followed by 2020’s Volumes and Got Wings with Cardo.
The Cool Kids have also announced the release of their solo albums, That’s A Baby Oil Staircase / Chillout, Episodes 2 & 3 of the triple album, for March 21.
This album should be in the AOTY discussion! The Cool Kids don’t get talked about enough and they’re damn near pioneers, and the blogs and media music outlets don’t see to give them enough shine. This album hopefully changes all that because its truly a great listen. Chucks production just knocks and is polished as ever. Mickey Rocks raps sound inspired and with sharpe delivery. Great album all around, with some of the best and funniest skits you’ve heard on an album. These guys real came thru with an amazing project
