Young Thug & Gunna Indicted On RICO

From slime time to hard time.

Young Thug and Gunna are among 28 people associated with YSL that have been charged in a 56-count indictment of racketeering and gang activity.

Just a days after Young Thug was arrested, Gunna surrendered to Fulton County on Wednesday (May 11) where he was charged with a single count of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

On Monday (May 9), Young Thug was taken into custody during a raid at his home and booked at Fulton County Jail, where he faced two separate counts including conspiracy to violate the RICO Act and participation in street gang activity. He was since charged with seven felonies from what police gathered during the raid including possession of marijuana, other controlled substances, firearms, and more.

The 88-page indictment includes conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery, and participation in criminal street gang activity. According to the indictment, YSL (Young Stoner/Slime Life) was believed to have started in late 2012 in the Cleveland Avenue area of Atlanta and have connected ties with the Bloods gang.

WSBTV’s Michael Seiden reports Young Thug is accused of renting the car that was used in the murder of 26-year-old rival gang member, Donovan Thomas, Jr. in 2015. Prosecutors also allege that two YSL associates, Christian Eppinger and Antonio Sumlin, worked to get Young Thug’s permission to make a second murder attempt on YFN Lucci while he’s jailed in Fulton County.

Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel told local media that, “Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever” and that he would “fight till his last drop of blood to clear him.”

“Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis responded “It does not matter what your notoriety is, what your fame is, if you come to Fulton County, Georgia, and you commit crimes, … you are going to become a target and a focus of this district attorney’s office, and we are going to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”

Rolling Stone reports prosecutors are using the rapper’s song lyrics and social media posts in their case.
