Album: Burna Boy ‘Love, Damini’

Make a wish.

Burna Boy ushers in his 31st trip around the sun with his sixth studio album, Love, Damini.

In celebration of his birthday (July 2), the Nigerian superstar releases 19 tracks for his “coming of age” record. Burna salutes his success on the standout “Kilometre“, counts his wins over the Toni Braxton-sampled “Last Last“, and celebrates love with “For My Hand” featuring Ed Sheeran. The album also includes a star-studded line-up of guests including J Balvin, Khalid, Blxst, Kehlani, Popcaan, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J. Hus, and Victony.

“It’s a bit personal because it’s bringing you into my head on my birthday — when you turn 31 and ain’t got no kids, everything is going good and bad at the same time.” says Burna on the album. “You reflect and then you get as lit as possible,” he adds. “Then you sleep and wake up and reflect again. I’m reflecting on everything — what I’m doing and what’s happening where I’m from. Where I’m from is a part of where I’m going.”

Missing from the set are Burna Boy’s recent collaborations with Polo G (“Want It All“), WizKid (“B. D’OR“), and Don Jazzy (“Questions“).

Love, Damini follows Burna Boy’s critically-acclaimed and Grammy award- winning album, Twice As Tall, which he released in 2020.
