Beyonce is back on the top of the Billboard charts and scores her seventh No. 1 solo debut with her latest album, Renaissance.

Beyonce becomes the first woman in 2022 to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It is also the largest debut in sales by a woman this year and second overall.

In its first week, Renaissance moved 332,000 equivalent album units with 190,000 of the sum in traditional album sales. 138,000 of its SEA units equated to 179.06 million on-demand streams of its 16 tracks, also the largest streaming week for an album by a woman in 2022. Renaissance sold 121,000 copies on CD, 43,000 via digital downloads and 26,000 on vinyl.

Renaissance is Beyonce’s seventh solo studio album, and first since 2016’s Lemonade. All six of her solo studio albums also opened atop the tally starting with Dangerously In Love in 2003. Her joint album with JAY-Z Everything Is Love debuted at No. 2 in 2018, while her Homecoming: The Live Album and The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack both have reached the top five in 2019.

Released on July 29, Renaissance features the hit single “Break My Soul” and contributions from JAY-Z, The Neptunes, The-Dream, Tems, Hit-Boy, No I.D., Mike Dean, Drake, Raphael Saadiq, and more. Beyonce also released her “Break My Soul (Queens Remix)” featuring Madonna. All 16 of the tracks have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, with “Break My Soul” leading the pack at No. 1, becoming her eighth solo chart-topping single. Congrats!
