Dave East takes it back to Common’s 2007 favorite “The People” for the latest installment of his East Mix.
Shot by Max Comfort, the video follows Dave East through his Harlem stomping grounds from cruising the the block to making a few visits at local shops where he mingles with fans. “Avoid two things, the cemetery and prison / Tried to play Bull in Detroit, felt like a Piston,” raps Dave over the vintage Kanye production. ”Ain’t nothing but champagne coming out when I’m pissing / She don’t want no scrub, baby / I don’t want no pigeon.”
Dave East’s “The People” follows his previous East Mix “What Y’all Want“, a freestyle over Eve’s 1999 hit. Earlier this month, Dave released his new video “Gangsta” and hopped on Chris Brickley’s “Comfortable” alongside Jadakiss.
