While chopping it up with Jenny Boom Boom and Craig G, Cole reveals that he is cancelling plans to release a mixtape before his debut album drops on September 27th. He says instead he will be releasing a track weekly that didn’t make the cut because he wants people’s full attention on his album.
Smart move. Cole Fridays. By the way, that new song that leaked with Trey Songz called “Cant Get Enough”….smooth. Better than Work Out, but Work Out is cool too tho. Looking forward to this

Bad move IMO. Cole’s fanbase is starting to grow into the mainstream crowd. These throwaway songs he puttin out won’t help keep people’s attention. IDK, I just think a mixtape would give him more buzz and attract the crowd that actually BUYS albums.

J.Cole is by far the best out of all the “new generation rappers” His album will be dope and will sell. I think the reason he’s had so much trouble putting it out though is because he is essentially Roc Nation’s experiment. The label was just formed in 09 and has only released 1 album (BP3) which was through a separate 1 album distribution deal with Atlantic. Roc Nation is now distributing their projects through Columbia. As much as Cole loves Jay-Z he probably should have signed to a more established label situation.
