Bangladesh On Studio Session With Pusha T

A few weeks ago, Pusha T and Bangladesh were spotted in the lab. Recently, the producer spoke with Complex to give some details of what went down and the particular beat that the new G.O.O.D. Music recruit chose.

“He was like, ‘Give me something hard.’ We went into the studio one day, I played him a few beats, and he picked [a beat]. He went home the next day. I’m thinking he’s gonna write to the joints. He came back to the studio like, ‘Man, I like these beats, but I want to hear some more.’ So I played him some more, but I was running out of things to play. I was like, ‘I ain’t got much left to play but I can make you something right now.’ Then I remembered this beat I had been making in L.A. I put that beat on and he just went crazy. He was like, ‘This the beat I was talking about!’ The song I’m talking about, you wouldn’t expect him to be on it. With the G.O.O.D. Music thing and the Neptunes, you never heard Pusha on shit like that. And he was even saying, ‘They ain’t gonna expect that.’ It’s gonna kill the game.”

I’m defintley dropping 10 bucks on this pusha lp. My only question is who is going to distribute this album? I hope its not def jam.

  2. THUNDERKUSH says:

G.O.O.D Music is a subsidiary of Def Jam, so it will definitely be distributed through them.

  3. H/K says:

^Theres a huge difference between distribution and promotion. Pusha signed to G.O.O.D.; Def Jam is the parent company; his album is gonna be distributed through Def Jam. Thats really all there is to it.

  4. saved says:

G.O.O.D. And startrack should do a joint venture through interscope for this album. Jimmy Iovine > whoever the fuck is running def jam.

By “kill the game” he means it’ll leak, have nerds on messegeboards and blogs talk about for a week, then be forgotten forever? Pusha T ain’t killing no damn game…dude’s Fabolous without the girly love song appeal…his solo album will be like every other Clipse release after Lord Wilin’…it’ll come out, the critics will act all geeked about it for a brief moment…and nobody else will give a shit

As far as G.O.O.D Music’s distribution…I don’t believe they have an exclusive deal with any one major label in particular…Big Sean and Kanye are the only ones affiliated with Def Jam to my knowledge…as somebody else said the other Good Music acts have varied distribution deals

  6. CuDi is also a member of G.O.O.D. music but he’s signed to Universal Motown. I believe G.O.O.D. is just a management/production company without a label affiliation. Also, even though Curren$y is a part of Def Jam as an artist of DD172, he might not necessarily get a big push from the the larger distributing label (though, as luckyP mentioned, they seem to be getting behind him a bit more now).

Also, according to wikipedia (so take this as you will), Pusha is affiliated with both G.O.O.D. and Roc Nation, who is distributed via Sony.

  7. yeezyfan says:

G.O.O.D. music is on the verge of becoming affilliated with Def Jam
where Def Jam will then distribute GOOD Music artist’s albums if the artist wants them to or they could go to a different label also
there hasnt been a official announcement yet but also expect that they will officially announce Swizz Beatz is on GOOD Music when they announce the def jam deal

  8. DARKAQUA says:

I’M GONNA NEED PUSHA T TO CUT THOSE BRAIDS….YEP!

  9. Gee says:

GOOD MUSIC aint apart of no damn Def Jam. its A imprint/prod. company shit can be distru. anywhere.

The only JV they have was with Sony BMG when they did the deal with John Legend.

  10. Mr Xclusive says:

    it wont kill shit

i’ve heard that thousands of times

he aint even that good either

  11. Clos1881 says:

@Mr exclusive fuck outta here. It still amazes me that people go out of their way to comment on people they don’t like.

  12. 12345 says:

no one wants to see a pusha t solo album or a malice solo album. people wanna hear the clipse, i really dont get the point of coming out with a solo album, not gonna be anything new or different from a clipse cd, just lackin one of the members. Ego’s can be a bitch.
