Not a huge fan of the hook (or Em’s singing in general, tbh) but the beat is wicked, Dre sounded great with a verse that Eminem obviously ghostwrote for him, and Im sure Em will kill it. So far, its a very good song.
As far as Detox goes, I really dont think dude has been working on it for 11 years. I think hes been doing other shit- like discovering/creating 50 Cent, promoting Eminem (remember, Dre 2001 dropped before the Marshall Mathers LP even did), creating Beats by Dre, dealing with his sons death, etc. So as much as I wish it was gonna be this epic hip hop masterpiece that took over a decade to create, I think thats just kind of unrealistic, wishful thinking. Having said that, Dr. Dre is still one of the greatest hip hop producers ever, with an almost limitless stable of artists to select from to compliment his beats, either thru features or thru a ghostwritten verse for Dre. So I think as long as u dont set yourself for disappointment, Detox should still turn out to be a hell of an album. As long as it actually drops… sometime… ever…
