Off their LP, When Fish Ride Bicycles, which drops July 12, The Cool Kids and Mayer Hawthorne make a big splash with their new tune. Availabe on iTunes tomorrow, but Pitchfork got the drop to premiere. Mastered at Engine Room Audio.
Seriously tho, Mayer Hawthorne is going places. I’ve never heard anything from him that was less than stellar.

I’ve been a Cool Kids fan for going on 4 years now but WTF was this shit??
Guys like this make me still love HIPHOP for embracing other sounds. Thank God for BoB, Cool Kids, LUPE, Eminem, JayZ, Ludacris, Wale, etc. I wish JCole would do a song with Christina Perri over an Alex Da Kid beat

Mayer Hawthorne is going to be huge. Or at least should be. Amazing to see in concert. I love the cool kids but this song was ehhhh.
It’s a different feel for the Kids…but only like tempo-wise, which is refreshing. Are we gonna act like Ryan Leslie wasn’t on their Gone Fishing mixtape, or that Tennile has never done any hooks for them? C’mon, they’re releasing this w/o being under an official label, let’s not be idiots and call it selling out.
