Lil Wayne ‘Tha Carter V’ Tops The Charts

Tune On Top

Lil Wayne is back on the Billboard 200 charts. This week, the rapper scored his fourth no. 1 debut with his latest album, Tha Carter V.

The album moved 480,000 in first week sales. Of that total, 325,000 were in SEA units. The rest of the sum were 141,000 in album sales and 14,000 in TEA units. The album also generated 433 million streams, making it the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album and the third-largest week for an album in 2018 (Scorpion, AstroWorld). Congrats!

Over the weekend, Tune was honored the 2018 BET Hip Hop Award ‘I Am Hip Hop Award.’ In unfortunate news, a stampede occurred during his performance at the AC3 Festival in Atlanta following a false gunshot report. The melee left 12 people injured.
