Bobby Shmurda is a free man and is finally Shmurda dancing out on parole.

On Tuesday (Feb. 23), the 26-year-old rapper from Brooklyn was released from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility, 10 months earlier than his initial release, after serving nearly seven years on a list of racketeering charges.

Bobby Shmurda was picked up in a private jet by Quavo and friends, and was seen joyfully FaceTiming his mother, Leslie Pollard. On his first day out, he was gifted a personalized Louis Vuitton briefcase, presented with certified plaques, sat down with GQ for an interview, and had a private dinner and a welcome home party with family and friends.

TMZ reports the prison’s Time Allowance Committee granted Bobby’s conditional release due to his recent good behavior and will now be under parole supervision in Brooklyn’s King’s County for the next five years until Feb. 23, 2026.

In December 2014, the “Hot Nigga” hitmaker and members of his GS9 were arrested at New York’s Quad Studios, where 21 guns were seized. They were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, possession of firearms, and narcotic possession with intent to sell.

Bobby Shmurda’s bail was set at $2 million and was indicted on a slew of charges including conspiracy, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, criminally using drug paraphernalia, attempted murder, and attempted assault.

Prior to this trial, Bobby Shmurda remained in custody and was denied parole on numerous occasions. Facing up to 25 years in federal prison, Bobby initially rejected a plea deal, but later accepted the offer in exchange for Rowdy Rebel to get less time.

In 2016, Bobby Shmurda was sentenced to seven years with credit of two years already served at the time. During his time at Rikers Island, Bobby received 11 violations including fighting and possession of contrabands.

Last December, GS9’s Rowdy Rebel was released from prison after serving nearly four years for his racketeering charges. Reunited and it feels so good.
