Lil Nas X brought both heaven and hell to his debut performance on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (May 23).
Recreating its controversial video, a topless Lil Nas X gave a fiery performance of “Montero (Call Me By My Name) on his hell-themed set a stopper pole and his male dancers. Despite a wardrobe malfunction with his leather pants ripping between the legs, Lil Nas X continued the show covering his crotch.
For his second performance, Lil Nas X donned an all-white suit with a bloody shot to the heart and performed his new single “Sun Goes Down” with a band on a heaven-theme stage.
During the evening, Lil Nas X recognized his fellow LGBT community with an appearance in the show’s skit, “Pride Month Song”.
